She traded her voice,
For feet and some legs,
Hoping it would bring her great joy.
She ran to the prince,
The man if her dreams,
But stopped when she saw what was before her.
There stood the prince,
With a girl on his arm,
With qualities Ariel had lacked.
Not knowing what to do,
She ran and she ran,
Till her feet could carry her no more.
Looking up from her red hair,
She saw and old hut,
And wandered into the building.
Seeing no one inside,
She made it her home,
But it wasn't a happy place.
The young girl was lonely,
With a broken heart,
And no one was around that could save her.
Eventually she died,
She couldn't care for herself,
And her emotional pain was too much.
