Chapter 1

Armin P.O.V

   It was a beautiful summer day. I decided to go to the beach to read. The ocean has always fascinated me, I loved watching the waves and learning about the life within the large blue mass. I just want to dive in its beautiful and mysterious waters. But unfortunately, I can't swim. I've been too scared to after a tragic accident happened on my parents' boat when I was about seven years old. Both of my parents died, and I've been afraid of the water ever since.

     As I sat in the sand, I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. I shrugged off the feeling and continued reading. "Still got your nose in that book, huh," a familiar voice said behind me. I whipped my head around only to find my two closest friends, Eren and Mikasa.

    "Oh, hey guys. What are you doing here," I asked. "We were about to ask you the same thing," Mikasa stated, "Didn't you hear about the storm?"

    "Storm?" I then looked up at the once cloudless sky was now completely dark and gray.

   "Wait, what time is it," I asked. "It's 4:20 (A/N: heheheheh),"Eren said as he looked down to check his phone. "Oh, crap! It's that late already," I shrieked. I got up and dusted myself off, "Thanks for warning me, I'll see you guys later," I called out as I ran. "No problem, Armin," I hear Eren yell back.

    As I ran through the beach club, I stumbled and almost fell into the swimming pool, "That was close", I murmur to myself. I get to the bicycle rack and grab my navy blue bike and head home. I parked my bike in the garage and went inside, only to be greeted by my  grandfather, "Hi there Armin, how was the beach?" "It was good, thanks." "Well you're here just in time, because the storm should be starting soon." I nodded and headed upstairs to my room.

~Time Skip~

   I was having a hard time sleeping as I watched lightning through my window and listened to the wind and thunder. "The storm will be over soon," I whispered to myself. I finally begin to relax a bit and soon fell into a deep sleep.
