"What was that?!" Caleb screamed. He'd never seen anything quite so terrifying, and now having seen a dismembered body, he felt he could never return to his previous smart kid innocence.

"I don't know. Honestly, no clue. But that's what I saw yesterday when I was picking up Jessica from her final surgery. Something similar, at least. Less... demonic?" Leah snickered. As they were in the car, she gazed into the shining sun in the blue sky. She looked lost, unsure of what was happening, how to fix it, why. She thought she might do some research later on. It's the best she could do, for now at least. "What? How long did we spend there? It's already the evening!"

"I don't even care. I could literally skip a week of school. I don't even know, I'm just completely done." Caleb squealed.

"Stop being so overdramatic. Okay, take a right here, then take the second left on Taverlake Avenue. Fourth house on the left." Leah got out of the car and head in the house, Caleb following her closely. "Jessica?" shouted Leah.

No answer.

"Jessica!" Leah and Caleb yelled together.

Jessica popped from behind a pillar in the middle of the kitchen, a red glint in her eyes, that same one she had seen just last night. This happened around the same time last night... A coincidence I'm sure, but a strange one I must admit, she thought to herself. "Hi, Jess. How was your day? Feeling better? Here, we got you your favorite snack! Mini Oreos! Here, catch."

Caleb leaned into Leah's ear and whispered, "Leah?... Why are her eyes red?"

"Don't mention it. Just ignore it, pretend everything is normal."

"Hi guys, haven't seen you in a while! Caleb, how've you been?!" she asked creepily. She had a look of insanity to her, and was seemingly trying to intimidate Caleb.

"...Fine....Hopefully your surgery went well." Caleb said flatly.

"Yes, yes indeed! I will go rest now, please excuse me." Jessica said, almost whispering.

Jessica pushed passed Caleb and marched upstairs, robotically. Visible through the staircase, Jessica turned the door and slammed it, making direct eye contact with Leah.

"...You can go if you want Caleb." Leah said. She knew Caleb had been through alot, and that he was a frail boy. She wasn't sure how much of this absurdity he could handle.

"I'll stick around for now, but just go find out what's wrong with her." whined Caleb.

Leah crept up the stairs, trying to ensure she made no sound. She tiptoed to her room to get her sound amplifier. Leah was trying to become a documentary maker, and nature documentaries generally required better microphones than those in the typical camera. She approached the door to Jessica's room, and slowly placed the amp on Jessica's shining gold door knob. She heard Jessica very faintly, performing incantations. A small beep rang from the device. Jessica stopped for a minute. Leah muttered under her breath. Fortunately for her, Jessica continued with the ritual. Towards the end, Jessica starting chanting a few phrases specifically, and repeatedly.

At dusk of each day we pray

That those monster doctors are taken away

For they destroyed our home, you see

And so now, their souls roam free
