There once was a little boy in the forest. His name was Theo. Theo was an adventurous little sprout, always going places people never dared to go themselves. Today he was going to death's cave. Death's Cave was mythed to be filled with dead bodies and other scary things. Theo wanted to see if any of the rumor was true. He set off from his house with no more than the slam of the front door to follow him out, rolling down little hills along his way. Theo thought about Lilith, his best friend. As an idea, Theo went to her house and asked if she would like to go along with him. Lilith looked at Theo and thought about it for a moment before she said softly, "Sure, I'll go, give me a minute to get dressed."

After she was ready, they both went off to find and explore the mysterious Death's Cave. Lilith smiled and ran into the cave before Theo could stop her. Yelling, he ran in after her and soon got lost in the dark. Lilith giggled, "Come and find me Theo!" she yelled as she giggled more. Lilith laughed again, a chill filling the air around Theo as he looked for her. Theo smiled as he grabbed her hand and ran out of the cave and back to his house.

As soon as they went into Theo's house, all the doors, windows, and shutters slammed closed all at once; Theo then felt the same chill go down his spine as he looked at Lilith's eyes, which were pure black. Theo smirked as he chuckled darkly, "If you think a weak demon like you can stop me then you're just as insane as you look." Lilith laughed psychotically and commented, "if you think you're strong, wait until you see the underworld, from which I came....." She then closed her eyes and placed her hands together in a weird symbol; the air around her darkened significantly and up rose an evil sword out of the ground. Theo didn't look worried in the least, he smiled as he muttered in Latin, he closed his eyes as he continued to mutter, soon enough the floor below Lilith disappeared and she fell in, the floor closed again leaving Theo alone in his living room; he sighed with relief.

After a few minutes, a laugh filled the room and in a demonic voice, Lilith says, "You silly fool, do you even know who I am? I am the true daughter of satan and by sending me to the underworld, you just replenished my powers to the max!" Lilith burst through the floor in a blaze of devilish glory and smirked at Theo, "all of our childhood memories have been a lie, all this time, I have been testing your strength and reading you like a book!" Theo gave a sad smile as he looked at her, he spoke softly, "I truly don't believe you feel that way......Because through my 4000 years of life, I have known you forever....." he said gently. Lilith smiled and said, "you know nothing about me or what I am capable of. What you've seen today is not even the surface of what I can do. I do not wish to hurt you, but if you further stand in my way, there will be war."
Theo smiled softly, taking small step towards her, he reached out and took her hand, kneeling down on his knee, "I am the knight your father has sent to protect you.....He didn't ever want to tell you, because he was worried you'd hate him." He kissed her knuckles gently and softly; "I do hope you will accepted me as your knight." Lilith looked at him with wide eyes, pulling her hand away from Theo; she then sputtered, "what the heck do you think you're doing? Get away from me!" Theo felt hurt and he nodded, bowing slightly; "Very well Princess, I promise to leave you alone." Lilith glared vehemently at Theo, then said quietly with an undertone of anger, "you will not call me princess ever again do you hear me? It is forbidden!"

Theo nodded and bowed slightly, "If that is what you wish, then I won't call you princess anymore.....My lady." Lilith screeched in anger and stomped out of the house; darkness flowed around her in thick waves as she blew up lots of things outside. Theo watched her quietly, he didn't speak, once he knew she was gone he got off his knees. Theo sighed in disappointment and dusted himself off and went outside to await Lilith's return.

The next morning, Theo was still sitting outside in the snow waiting for Lilith to come back. He felt as if he had crossed a major line, but didn't know what to do about it, especially since Lilith wasn't there to tell him what to do. On the other hand, he wanted to go look for Lilith and ask for forgiveness, but he knew she most likely would never forgive him.

Lilith tromped through the woods behind Theo's house, fuming. She was mad but at the same time she couldn't help but feel lonely without Theo there. She shook her head to get those thoughts out of her mind, then plopped down on the ground in frustration. Her feelings seemed to go back and forth, she cared for Theo, but at the same time he made her frustrated. She picked up a rock and chucked it at another tree, then put her head in her hands and let out a huge sigh. She shook her head and stood to call her father. She chanted something, closed her eyes and concentrated; after a while, she felt her father's presence in her mind.

She ran her fingers through her hair as she heard her father's thick, silky voice, "hello dear, did you need to talk to me?" Lilith growled in frustration and responded, "why must you always do this father? I don't need a protector! I can take care of myself!" He was quiet for a minute, before he spoke, "It wasn't a stranger this time....It was your childhood friend." he said gently. "That makes it even worse!" She screamed into the air. He sighed softly, "Why are you so against having a protector?" He asked her. "Because I'm not a little kid anymore father, I can fend for myself!" He sighed again, looking at her, "I love you sweetheart, and I don't want anything to happen to you." He paused and thought to himself for a moment before he spoke again, "Theo was born and made to protect you, he has no other reason for living."

Lilith blinked and opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. He was quiet and once again, then said, "You know he cares for you, and he wants to be there and protect you," he paused. "But if you won't let him then he will simply disappear because he has no reason to exsist...." he sighed softly, "It is what you wish though." Lilith's eyes widened and she bolted back to Theo's house, frantically looking for him as she went. Theo laid in the snow, opening his eyes he looked at the starry night sky, and swallowed "I guess this is my time,...." he chuckled and closed his eyes as a single tear ran down his cheek. Lilith spotted Theo in the snow and quickly rushed over to his side, but he began to glow faintly as she reached him. Theo swallowed and glanced over to the side, he smiled softly.

"I'm glad my last sight will be you......Lilith." Lilith sobbed and reached out to touch him, but her fingers went right through his shoulder like a ghost. Theo smiled and reached out gently, cupping her cheek; his thumb rubbed over her cheek, but it simply felt like a small wind or cold shivers running over her sink; He smiled softly and said sadly, "please don't cry over me.....I'm not worth your feelings" he said softly, as he looked at her with dim eyes. Lilith sobbed lightly, "no, you're my best friend! You can't just leave me when I need you."

Theo looked up at her, "how do you need me, when I can't even protect you....." he said gently. "That's not true! You can protect me from a lot of stuff like... um... Mr. Worth's homework and lectures!" Lilith stated frantically. Theo chuckled but then winced and swallowed, "I'm glad you can still get me to laugh." His eyes started to gain their natural color slightly. Lilith smiled, and when she went to touch him again, her hand felt tingly. Theo looked at her, "What are you doing?" he asked, swallowing. "I have no clue, but whatever it is, it's saving your butt, so don't complain," Lilith smirked. Theo closed his eyes and sighed softly, "Whatever......" Soon, Theo began to solidify slowly, and within a few hours, he was able to stand again. Lilith smiled warmly and wrapped ehr arms around him in a tight hug.
