~ANGEL POV~
I hate her. She acts all sweet and shit and instantly wins him over. I get they were friends before all of this but still, I've seen him through the worst of hardships and I've helped him through it. He should love me, not her.
I needed to let off some steam so I went on a bit of a killing spree. I was gone for a good 3 hours or so. When I got back, I saw (Y/N) and Painter, hugging and watching this dumb show on TV. I confronted them about it but didn't really get anything out of it. He is always taking her side. I stormed upstairs to my room and locked the door. Not long after, Painter knocked on my door.
"Angel? Can you let me in please?" He asked, sadness in his voice.
"No!" I manage to get out, trying not to cry.
"Why? Why can't I come in?" He asked.
"Because I know she is out there." I snap back, the thought of that annoying girl staining my mind.
"She isn't, really! I promise. Just let me in." He really was begging by this point.
With a bit of hesitation, I get up and unlock the door, letting him into my room and then promptly closing the door again.
"What do you want?" I asked, looking down.
"What's wrong? Why are you upset?" He asked.
"Her." I spoke bluntly, like if I said it for any longer I would have been sick.
"What about her?" He asked again. I sat down next to him.
"She acts all sweet and innocent when I know she isn't!" I yell.
"Is that it?" More questions.
"No." I mumbled.
"Will you tell me what else is wrong?" He spoke in a soft voice.
"I don't know." I continue looking down.
"Why not?" He tried looking me in the eye.
"Because there are some things I don't want you knowing." I continued to mumble.
"You tell me everything. Why not this?" He asked me.
"Because..." I started but I didn't finish.
"Please tell me Angel." Sadness laced his voice once again.
"Why should I tell you?" I was starting to get mad.
"Because I'm your best friend!" That phrase he spoke stung me like a poisonous bee, hurting me like hell. I was desperately trying to hold back tears. I secretly punched my thigh in order for the tears to stop.
"I know." I didn't look at him once.
"Look, the door is closed and (Y/N) is still downstairs. It's just between us. I promise." He assured me.
"100%?" I asked.
"110%." He smiled, and it made me chuckle slightly.
"Okay...." I took a deep breath. "I.... I'm in love with you Painter." I let out a deep breath. I looked up and he looked shocked. I couldn't stop myself, and I kissed him. It only lasted a second or see so I couldn't tell if he kissed me back or not.
"I love you Angel..." He started. I started to smile, until he continued talking. "But only as a friend. I'm sorry but I can't. I... I love (Y/N) too much to just leave her, especially after everything." He apologised.
I couldn't hold back the tears this time. A few tears rolled down my cheeks and speckled my white pants. I thought for just a moment that he actually cared for me, but I guess not.
"I will promise you something." He spoke. I looked at him. "If me and (Y/N) don't end up working, like if something happens, I'm yours. I would be lying if I didn't love you a little." He gave a sad smile. I smiled too and gave him a hug, wiping the tears that had temporarily stained my face.
Once we broke the hug, I looked at him. "Do you promise me?" I asked, serious.
"I swear on my life." He smiled again. I really couldn't help kissing him this time, and I think he kissed back a little this time, but we stopped because we heard a door slam downstairs.
"What was that?" I asked.
"I don't know." He sounded just as confused as me.
We both made our way downstairs. We looked around and (Y/N) was no where to be seen. Not too long later, I went back into the main room to see Painter reading a note and crying.
"What's that...?" I asked him.
"A note. From (Y/N)." He spoke with sadness and anger in his voice.
"What does it say...?" I asked, afraid of the answer.
"Just read it yourself." He said, no real emotion in his voice. He looked down at the ground as he extended his arm towards me, letter in hand. I grabbed it and read what it said.
I heard everything. I heard Angel saying that she loved him. I heard Helen saying he loved her. I don't understand what happened for it to turn like this but I hope you're happy. I'm going somewhere you hopefully won't find me. I hope you two are happy.
Goodbye.
-(Y/N).
I felt really bad. I didn't really mean things to happen like this. I looked back at him, tears still falling from his eyes.
"Painter, liste-" I started, but he interrupted me.
"Get out." He spoke with no emotions.
"What?" I ask, not totally sure what he said.
"You heard me. Get. Out." He was still looking at the floor.
"I don't understand." I felt tears starting to build.
"This is your fault. If you had just accepted the fact that I loved (Y/N) and not you, none of this would have happened." He was clearly angry by this point.
"How the fuck was I supposed to know she would over hear?! I've loved you since day one, and the day I finally confess-" I nearly finish but he interrupts me again.
"Shut up. Get the fuck out already." He was really getting mad.
"But I-"
"GET! OUT!" He looked me dead in the eye, screaming in my face.
"You promised! You broke that promise! I loved you! I would have done anything for you! I still would! But no. Apparently one fuck up and I'm the worst person alive. God you're such a dickhead." I spat at him and then picked up my sword and left. Once I go far enough away I burst into tears.
(Y/N) caused all of this.
She has to die.
I have to kill her.
