Loud, disturbing music echoed through the rich man's residence. The party continued on, drinks falling onto the floor from the booming base.

All parties are fun if you choose to enjoy it, little did I know this would be different.

I laughed, accidentally spilling my drink a little. Jeff laughed slightly, and I leaned against the house.

"Clay Jensen!" I smiled, and he tried to walk past us.

"Hey, hey, where you going?" Jeff stopped Clay.

"I just gotta get up really early and uh - "

"Clay, Hannah's here!" Clay knew she was here, I could tell.

"Oh she is, I didn't even know." He tried to get past him again.

"Clay, I may be half drunk, but I know you knew she was here." Jeff raised his eyebrows at Clay, and he shrugged.

"Alright Clay, listen here. You need to go in there and talk to her." He blocked Clay's escape path. I stood up and walked over to them.

"Clay, isn't this what you've been waiting for this whole night?"

"Hannah?"

"Yes!"

"She's busy, she's talking to other people."

"Cut in! Take a swing!"

"What?"

"Swing the bat to the strike zone and knock it out, Jensen!" Jeff replied, and I laughed.

"True."

"See, I'm aware those are baseball terms, and given my batting average - "

"Oh fuck me, Jensen . . . " Jeff groaned, crossing his arms.

"Clay, seriously, just go talk to her... or I'm gonna have to kick your ass," I smirked.

"You couldn't kick my ass."

"I wouldn't get too cocky, Clay. Gabi can swing that bat." Jeff snickered, and I raised my eyebrows at Clay.

"I'll take my chances."

"Please just go." I extended the 'o', and he finally gave in.

"Knock 'em dead, Jensen!" Jeff and I both shot hollers in his direction, and Clay closed the door on us. Starting to laugh, we both leaned against the house.

Sitting in class was boring today, I usually had someone to talk to. Even without Jeff or Hannah, I still had at least one person, but now that Alex and Clay were suspended, I had nobody. I slumped low in my desk, picking at the tip of my pencil lead.

So many funerals were to be planned, and with our luck, more was yet to come. Jeff's was coming up pretty quick, and I don't know when the Bakers' were having it, or if they were having one.

My parents were starting to worry about me, not just because of my behavior, but because instead of an A average, I now scored a C- average. I still sort of tried in my academics, but most came out as if I hadn't at all. The bell rang signifying the end of class, but I sat there for a little longer.

"Ms. Middleton?" the teacher tapped my desk causing me to glance upwards. I know he was eyeing my black eye because it wasn't starting to get very noticeable. The softball had hit me at the game, and I hadn't even bothered to try and cover it. What was the point?

I was decaying from the inside out, so why not show it?

Two updates in one month? Wow, I'm really starting to catch up? Maybe?

Thoughts on the chapter, I wrote this a while ago, maybe close to a year even and now reading back, I am almost starting to cry. This novel/fanfiction includes a lot of feels extracted from the series, and I think my love for Jeff/Brandon is a big part of that.

He definitely deserved better, and I hope Brandon at least gets that.
