Hazel's POV

It was day after Percy had revealed to us what the three ideals of Monster Law were and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's intrigued and repulsed by it at the same time. He had let us ask our questions and had deflected a few sharp objects – which I believe were courtesy of Thalia, Annabeth and Piper – but then told us he'd explain the rest of the map later, to let everything sink in.

We were sat around the table waiting for everyone to arrive but it was only Leo and Percy we were waiting for, much to our annoyance. I sat down next to Frank after grabbing a plate and wishing for eggs on toast, smiling at him before he began to talk.

"What do you think's going to happen today, Hazel?" Frank asked me, his voice close to a whisper as he nervously looked around the table. "I know Percy said he'd explain the map, but then what? Will we go into the mountains finally or wait again for Jason? And what if Jason wakes up while we're gone? What are we supposed to do?"

I shook my head at him, "I don't know, Frank. I just don't know."

He sighed and turned back to his cereal, I almost copied him, but felt his hand slip into my own. I smiled absentmindedly and swallowed my egg, deep in thought. My mind pondered on Frank's words, What are we supposed to do? The question that probably summed up our position in this quest.

Once we knew what Percy meant by a map of the Monsters' territories, we could make real plans. At the moment, we were sitting ducks outside of their main base – the North Mountains – and we would be attacked sooner or later if we didn't start moving again. My chest tightened, we were in Alaska, the place beyond the gods' control and where it all ended before, if we were to die...

No! I told myself sternly, Don't think like that! You are alive and you will survive!

I looked around the room, worried, as Percy entered the room. His eyes were cold with an icy glare, the same as when we'd first found him in Alaska. He sat at the furthest end of the table, not sitting at the head but keeping his distance from the rest of us.

A sting of annoyance ran through me.

I turned away from him, noticing how we'd all tensed when he had entered the room, no wonder he didn't want to sit with us. I noticed how Annabeth's hands rested on her sword and Piper's free hand kept itching towards Katoptris, Thalia seemed close to firing an arrow into his skull but refrained from pulling out her bow, and the rest of us just kept still, feeling the tension rise in the air.

Then Leo walked in, accidentally slamming the door open – or so I guessed he didn't mean to judging by the look on his face. He strolled in and sat down in the only vacant seat beside the one at the head of the table – the one next to Percy.

He looked at us all with a grin, "'Sup?"

A/N:
I'm going to start off by saying that I'm really sorry about all the POV and other mistakes in the last chapter, I'll try to fix them soon! I guess that's why I don't write stories past midnight! XD
