"Uhm, hon, where shall I put it?" Averine held her bag for Railley to see.

He has been talking nonstop to someone on the phone since they landed on the airport. Since she vowed to change for the better, she just busied herself on her magazines instead of nagging him about it. The only time that he took notice of her was when she almost fell down the stairs while she was carrying her suitcase. After helping her out, he continued talking to his phone as if nothing happened. Although full of vehemence, Averine did not say anything.

Railley gestured towards the bed and she obediently placed her bag on it. Trying to be the understanding wife, she just went into the balcony to get some fresh air. Must be business, she thought.

"I'm going out for a while, babe. Just go to the restaurant if you get hungry, okay?" He kissed her quickly before leaving the suite.

"What?" He was already gone when she turned around. She just sighed for there was nothing she can do about it.

It was the first day of their honeymoon and she just wanted to spend the whole day with him. After finding out that they were going to Maldives, she listed her itinerary on her favorite stationery: a purple and pink scented paper bought from Monaco. She was determined to follow it but it seemed that she had to postpone some of her plans. They had the rest of their lives to do them anyway.

Bored, she started unpacking and arranging their clothes in the cabinets. He got them the biggest and the best cottage of the resort. It was very elegantly styled with silk cream bedsheets on a very comfortable four poster. Fluffy pillows occupied most of the bed and a Sony flatscreen tv was hung on a wall opposite the heavenly bed. Almost everything was made of wood and the entire room screamed nature. Even the bathroom had real bamboos for decorations. However, the best part was that the cottage had a balcony that led to an infinity pool connected to the sea. They need not to mingle with the tourists for the beach was right at the back.

Done unpacking, Averine lied down on the bed and reminisced the day she first saw him.

*flashback*

"Dad, do I really have to be here?" Averine looked at the working cubicles with disgust. It was not her first time to visit their company but she gets the same feeling of disgust and uneasiness everytime she visits.

For her, the employees' uniforms were bland and a disgrace to the world of fashion. The women's pencil skirts needed severe remodelling and most of the men's ties did not match their dress shirts. She was scared to death to catch their lack of taste.

"Will you please behave just for a while? I wanted you to be here because we are going to meet a very important client," her father said sternly.

For once, she did what was asked of her. She grew silent and followed her father towards the meeting room. All eyes were turned on her as she passed the working stations. Here comes the spoiled brat was written on everyone's computer screen. Of course, they made sure not to ler her see it. They hated her, but they sure didn't want to lose their jobs.

"I'm sorry for the tardiness Mr. Hansford. You see, I still had to drag my daughter out of the house," Mr. Kerli said with a bit of humor.

"No harm done, sir. It's a good thing that you're late anyway since I had an important call from someone," the man replied.

Because she was bowing her head the entire time, Averine expected to hear the voice of a balding and old rich man. However, she was surprised to hear a sweet and husky voice which definitely did not belong to someone old. She slowly lifted her head and all complains about the meeting was automatically forgotten.
