Nine Months Later
I woke up to a strange feeling in my bed. I took the blankets off of my body and saw a huge liquid stain on the sheets.
"Brendon!" I started to panic. He stirred but eventually woke up.
"Hmm?" He mumbled.
"My water broke, we need to get to the hospital!" I yelled, getting out of bed and getting the pre-prepared suitcase Brendon packed in case of emergencies, just like this one.
Brendon shot up and started undressing in front of me, going to put normal clothes on. He took a pillow off the bed and snatched the suitcase out of my hand.
"I can't believe I'm gonna be a father soon!" He cheered, running down the stairs as I waddled down them.
"Cmon cmon, let's go, we have to get to the hospital, quick!"He locked the door as we both walked out and went to the vehicle. Brendon threw the stuff in the back seat.
I'm surprised that I was being calmer than Brendon, and I was the one who had to have the baby.
Brendon was speeding to the hospital.
"Brendon! Slow down! I want to make it to the hospital!" I yelled, holding onto the seatbelt for dear life.
When we got to the hospital, Brendon had gotten everything out of the vehicle and helped me get inside. Someone who worked at the hospital put me in a wheelchair. Brendon wheeled me into the hospital, running to the front desk.
"Hello! My wife is going into labor." Brendon informed the woman.
"Alright, we have a semi-private room waiting for you." She said, causing Brendon and me to frown.
"Are there any private rooms?" He asked, basically saying the words I was gonna say.
"Sorry sir, but no, we're all booked, but I can ensure you that you'll enjoy your semi-private room." She smiled. Brendon and I sighed as we followed the lady into the room. No one was here yet, so that was good.
The lady gave me a gown and showed me where the bathroom was so I could change.
I changed and got out of the bathroom, going back to my bed. Brendon was sitting on a chair beside the bed. He had my pillow on the bed and my security blanket.
Yes, I know I'm twenty-seven, but I've had that blanket since I was in kindergarten. I was planning on passing the blanket onto the baby.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, making sure I got into the bed comfortably.
"Yes, I feel fine, don't worry abo-ohhh!" I said, feeling a contraction.
"Spoke to soon." Brendon laughed. I glared him and continued my deep breathing. Finally, when the contraction stopped, I flopped my head down on the pillow and closed my eyes.
"God, this is gonna be the longest day of my life. What time is it anyways?" I asked.
"Um, it's one in the morning." He said, checking the alarm clock on the stand beside the bed. He took his glasses out of the suitcase and put them on. He was really cute with his glasses.
The nurse walked in and started checking to see how many centimeters I was dilated.
"So, how many?" Asked Brendon.
"Five, already, that's fast, I think you'll have this baby in no time." She smiled and then walked out.
"Brendon baby, could you get me some ice chips please," I begged. He nodded and got up, leaving to go to the cafeteria. He came back in no time with an orange cup of ice chips.
"Thanks!" I pecked his lips. I placed the cup down when I felt another contraction.
"Brendon! Brendon, contraction," I said, starting to panicking and breathe in and out in pain. He started rubbing my back but I stole his hand and dug my fingernails into it.
The nurse came back in, again, going to check how many centimeters.
"Well, you're at nine centimeters dilated, I think you're going to be a mom soon!" She smiled.
"D-does that mean that I can go into the delivery room right now?" I asked. She nodded and I got out of bed. Brendon followed me and she quickly went to get a wheelchair.
We got to the room and I sat in the weird delivery chair. The same nurse came in and another woman.
"Alright Faelecia, I'm going to need you to push at every contraction." She said.
"How far apart are my contractions?" I said, of course, still in a panic mode.
"Twenty-eight seconds." She said, going to go check something.
"Oh, I feel a contraction!" I said loudly, causing the nurse to come back and help me.
"Alright, I'm going to need you to push as hard as you can." She said. I took a deep breath in and pushed.
"Good good."
"You can do it Faelecia!" Brendon cheered me on as I was pushing. He was rubbing my hair, which was probably extremely sweaty.
"Alright, next contraction is going to be in twenty-eight seconds." She said. I flopped my head on the pillow and looked at Brendon, who had that cute little smile on his face. That made me smile and I cupped my hand on his cheek.
"You're going to be a great father," I said. The nurse came back and advised me to push yet again.
"Good good. I can see the head." She said. Brendon ran to her and started looking.
"Oh my god! It's head, our baby has a face!" He yelled. I screamed and Brendon ran back to me.
"Keep pushing Mrs. Urie!" The nurse said. I pushed as hard as I can and felt the baby come out a little more. Brendon ran back to where the nurse was.
"Oh yes, head, shoulder, torso, and, and..."
"And what?" I yelled.
"I-It's a girl." I heard his voice soften.
"It is?" I asked. He nodded and I started to cry.
"One more big push, alright? Then you can see your baby girl." The nurse said. I took the biggest push I can and suddenly heard a baby cry.
"Would you like to cut the cord Mr. Urie?" She asked, handing Brendon the scissors. I heard a snip, and the baby was being carried away from me to be cleaned. Then, in the blink of an eye, the baby was placed on my chest.
"Oh my god, she's absolutely perfect!" I said. Brendon smiled and took a look at the baby.
"She looks so much like you."
"So do we have a name for the baby?" The nurse asked. Brendon and I looked at each other, then at the same time, we both said.
"Marie!"
