Heidi's POV

It's my birthday today, the 15th of June. It's been 2 weeks since my gran was out in a coma and she still hasn't woken up. I couldn't lose her, not after my parents!

I had been to school every single day, acting so my gran would be proud. It's after school and I'm sat in the chair next to my grans bed. I begin to drift of when he piercing sound of the heart monitor began to speed up drastically. Alarmed I sprint into the hallway yelling for a doctor.

I see several sprinting down the hallway and I move out the way so they can get into the room.

I'm told to wait outside and I do as I'm told, only because I know I won't be doing gran any favours.

I wait outside until a grave faced doctor comes out the room, his eyes search the room until they land on me. Hope surges through me as he smiles at me. He gestures for me to enter my grandmas room. When I do I rush to her side despite the doctors complaints. I frown when she doesn't react. Pressing my fingers on her neck I notice there's no movement.

That's when I hear the long, sustained beep coming from the monitor.

It strikes me hard what that means and I fall into welcome blackness.
