"Scarlett, concentrate."

I rolled my eyes in distaste at Jace as I sent my fist straight to the bag. I looked to my left to see Mason destroying the bag beside me. He really seemed to fit in here. A lot better than I do.

"Jace! I am concentrating! What else would I be doing?"

Jace shot me a glare, only for me to shrug it off. He ran to the middle of the training class, his eyes still on mine.

"Pair up!"

Nervousness settled in my stomach. The last time I did this, Grey practically killed Axel for overpowering me. Although, considering Grey hasn't even looked at me since the ball, he has no reason to interfere with this. It had almost been a week, and I haven't even seen Grey. My heart hurts, and longs for him, but I am stronger than that. If I push him away this much, in time, I can make all my feelings for him go away. I can push him out of my life once and for all.

"Scar."

Jace pulled me out of my thoughts, as he placed his hands on my shoulders. I looked around at everyone already paired up. Mason was paired with Axel, that should go well.

"Who am I with?"

Jace let out a laugh, as he motioned to himself. My eyes practically came out of my head as I looked at him. This boy must be joking.

"I'm pretty sure a squirrel would win over me, so.. I'm gonna sit this one out."

I went to go turn around as I suddenly felt myself being flipped, and landed on the ground with a thud. Jace was on top of me, his arm across my chest, holding me down. He was smirking at me as I let out a deep breath.

"I hate you."

Within seconds, Jace let go of me and pulled me back up so I was standing on my feet.

"You have to learn, Scarlett."

I jerked myself away from him, then pushed at his chest. I pounded against his chest as hard as I could, still having no effect on him. He just stood there, and took it.

"I hate you!"

I pushed him back again, this time harder. Jace shifted back this time, almost stumbling over.

"I hate you!"

I screamed at him again, sending a punch straight to his stomach. His stomach clenched, as he let out a groan. I was fighting back. He went to flip me, but I ducked under him and landed a blow to his throat. He coughed wildly, quickly regaining his stance.

"Who do you hate, Scar?"

He caught my hands in one swift movement, bringing them to him. We were eye to eye, both covered in sweat, our breathing heavy.

"You."

I breathed out, but he only shook his head.

"Who do you hate?"

His voice cracked as he stared into me, our chests violently breathing.

"I hate him."

He let go of my arms, as they fell to my side. I looked right at him, hitting his chest once more. He let out a deep breath, his blue eyes locked on mine.

"I hate Grey. I hate him so much. Every breath I take, I feel pain. Because of him, Jace. I-I don't want to feel his way. I don't want to feel like this."
