It was days like this that made her miss him the most. She was surrounded by thousands of people chanting her name, yet all she wanted was for him to be here with her. She missed singing with him and the way he hugged her right after, always whispering words of encouragement for her. It was always a bit strange now to return to her bus , but not have him be there. Although they were in the same city, he wasn’t with her. He was busy, she knew that, but that didn’t stop her from craving his presence.
She didn’t fully realize how much she loved him until they weren’t together all the time. At first, she thought she missed him this much because he was her best friend, but she soon realized that that was definitely not the case. Every time they would get together, she would get extremely nervous and always try to look her best, although he had seen her at her worst. She would linger in his embrace for a bit longer than necessary, just because she enjoyed the way his arms felt around her waist. There seemed to be a never ending flurry of butterflies in her stomach when she was around him, which had never happened before.
Now she’s sitting in her bed, watching an episode of a show that she’s not really focusing on. Twirling a lock of her blonde hair absentmindedly, she starts wishing that he was lying next to her, telling her some silly story about his manager. He always seemed to make a boring night less dull. They’d usually share a bottle of wine and then drift off to sleep together. He’d wake up first and start the coffee and the smell would pull her out of her sleep and she would stumble to the kitchen to make breakfast.
She’s in London, so she doesn’t even have her cat here to keep her company. It makes her uncomfortable to be alone in a huge hotel room. A suite like this should be shared, it’s definitely not for someone’s who’s alone. Thinking about being alone just reminds her that if he was here, she would be in someone’s company.
She just misses him, although she knows it will always be a little more than that. Her eyes start falling closed and she feels the familiar wave of sleep dragging her under when she hears her phone chime with a new text.
From Ed: I miss you.
For the first time in what feels like forever, a genuine smiles makes it’s way to Taylor’s face and she falls asleep feeling the happiest she has in months.
