We set out in the early morning, full of energy and ready for action, and it wasn’t long before we had made it to the small village of Parnassus.

“Put your bow away” I repeated anxiously “this is not the place to start a fight. If someone runs at us with a knife screaming bloody murder, then you shoot.”

“Why can’t I just keep it out? What’s everybody’s problem?”

“Let me ask you something boy” I said authoritatively “you saw someone roaming the streets with his bow out and an arrow in his hand what would you think? You would be suspicious and probably a bit frightened, that’s not what we’re going for here.

“You mean like that?”

I looked up and our eyes met as I looked across the village only to see someone of the exact caliber that I had described. Bow locked and loaded, sneer on his face, and what looked like a wicked thought in his head as he headed for the original temple of the Muses, he was headed into MY territory.

“Come on” I said, unable to control the passion in my voice, “We’re following him.”

“But he’s headed towards the temple, won’t the gods stop him?”

“Just in case they don’t” was my response, “go around back and intercept while I follow.”

When he disappeared it finally occurred to me, he’s going to turn around at some point! Then I spotted it, in the perfect location, a pipe allowing me access to the roofs.

“Here goes nothing” I thought to myself as I began to jump from roof to roof in pursuit. Then I saw something that almost stopped my heart. I saw Ajax spying around a corner and behind him was our target, bow drawn, string taut, aiming at his head; I had only one choice, he had to die. There was no way I could hit him with my knife from this far but I had to try.

“One, two, three” I yelled as my dagger sliced through the air, true to its target, or so I thought as it hit the stone beside him.

“Well at least it caught his attention” I thought to myself as he turned his aim to me.

He was about to let the arrow fly when out of nowhere Ajax appeared and knocked him out. That’s all I saw before I passed out again, and experienced my third biggest mistake, getting hit with an arrow in public.
