Chapter I: Invited to the job

One Morning I woke up realizing that I had the heaviest problem laying down my shoulders, and having to meet unbelievable people. I don't think the problem I have can be solve for a very long time. A god caused this. A very irresponsible, homeless jersey wearing guy who calls himself god.

"HIYORI!!!!!" He shouted from outside my room, knocking the door repeatedly. That man is the one causing all my problems, Yato, The god of calmity. I was still lying on my bed, trying to ignore every ounce of disturbance coming from that man.

"HI-! YO-!RI-! wake up! do'ya got any food? I'm getting hungry!" he shouted. Good thing he's a god, meaning that no human can see or hear him. Well, except me, since I'm a half phantom. I'm in the middle of the near shore and the far shore. I remember the time, Yato explained to me what I was. He told me that the Far shore was the thing we call 'the Afterlife'. I wouldn't imagine if mom and dad heard all this annoying, ear bleeding rucus! They would go nuts!

"Shut up!" shouted Yukine. I guess he just woke up from Yato's complaints. "You're so noisy! do you even know what time it is?!" Oh! Yukine isn't seen or heard too. It kinda saddens me, but What can I do?

"Oh! Yukine! finally you're awake. We have a jo-" I cut off Yato as I quickly swung the door open.

"Yato-san, it's 4:00 in the morning..........why are you waking us up?"

"I went here to get my Regalia." Then he smiled goofily at me, making me more angry.

Yukine became a little pissed off, by the looks on his face. I didn't have second thoughts of doing the same. If he wanted to get Yukine, why disturb my tranquil sleep?? Me and Yukine gave a him an impatient and irritated look. We face him with expressions saying 'I couldn't get enough sleep, because of you.

"Whatever. Let me sleep for a while.." Said Yukine as he went back inside his room and slammed the door.

"Then why did you wake me up?!?!" I shouted, feeling so enraged thinking I might've had eyes bags now!

"Well I found this lying on the Tenjin temple...." He told me in a sly tone. I looked at what he was carrying, and it was..My body?! My eyes widen in shock.

"You mean I left my body in the Tenjin temple?!?" I shouted as I looked at the tail behind me, my chord. He lifted my body in a princess carry. I leaned forwards, trying to get my body, but he won't give it to me. He kept jerking away so that I couldn't catch it.

"Yato! Give it back!!" I shouted at him. Then he grabbed the arms of my body and lifted it up. He made my body dance. I got really irritated. I didn't know how to go back. This was too embarrassing to take!! I was blush red, and I uncontrollably.....slapped him.

"Yato!!" I shouted, his face was shocked, and his cheek was red and swollen. "You pervert!!" He dropped my body to the ground and took a few steps back.

"I'm not a pervert! I'm a god!!" He exclaimed with an irritated look on his face as well. He glared at each other.

I turned my back from him. "You couldn't even do my request.." I whispered. "You know I'm starting to doubt if you are a god."

He gasped comedically. "Just you wait!! I'll have my own shrine and everything!!" He looked at the ceiling, daydreaming about the day he's famous and people would worship him from every area of the continent. A sparkling aura covered him, he was laughing at his imaginary pleasures. While he was in his daydreaming. I already went in my body. I stood up and walked into my room.

"Whatever. Jobless, jersey wearing guy who calls himself god...."Then I, too, slammed the door in his face. I jumped back to my bed and tried to fall asleep.

"Oi! Hiyori!" He whined as he knocks on the door again. For a moment in time the annoyance halted. I was relieved, but then he suddenly pounded on the door repeatedly. Why is he doing this?? I mean, he could just teleport here. Then the pounding followed with loud crashes and

"Hiyori! Open the door!!" I woke up and I saw myself sleeping on the bad. I was a half phantom again. I opened the door and I saw Yato, under a huge Phantom!!

"Y-Yato-san!!" I shouted, he looked my way. "Sekki!" He shouted. Then Yato's regalia, Yukine, appeared on his hand. He grabbed Yukine and stabbed the phantom from underneath. Then usual tint of red was the surrounding, and then went back to normal.

"Did you get worried?" He asked slyly. I turned around, hiding my annoyed and at the same time reddish face. Why am I red?

"Of course I am! How did that phanto-" I was interrupted as Yato grunted in pain.

"Yato?" I said as I immediately turned around. "Yato!" I exclaimed as I stared at him, lying on the ground, face on the floor.
I stooped down, and turned him around.

"Yato!" He faced me as he was lying on the ground with a face in pain. There was no blithe covering him, no violet color. "Yato! What's wrong!"

"I.....know..." He uttured. I was worried and at the same time dumbfounded at the words coming out of his mouth.

"What?" I asked.

"I....I know! why don't you come with us on the job!!" He shouted enthusiastically. He quickly stood up and gave me a hand. I gave him a soft punch.

"You......made me worried!" I shouted as I looked down, noticing that tears are forming from my eyes. Then, the second I noticed I was crying. I quickly turned around and became completely red.

"Well, Hiyori, I'm sorry, but........do you wanna come?" He asked, sounding worried.

"O-of course! Just let me change!!" I shouted as I ran to my room and quickly lean on the door. I closed my eyes pace my breathing. "Why did I have to cry?........ahhh!! That's so embarrassing.

[On the otherside, from the outside, Yato could hear every word she uttered, but he stood there dumbfounded. Yukine came out of the room. He was awoken by the noise cause by either the phantom or Hiyori.

"What happened?" He asked Yato with an irritated expression sticked to his face. Yato shrugged and replied.

"Maybe something new? I guess." Then both went down stairs, waiting for Hiyori finish. While waiting Yato unclearly explained to Yukine what the job is.]

I went down wearing one of my favorite clothes. The red checkered long sleeve, a black short skirt and long socks. It's really cute! Wait! Why am I wearing a cute outfit?? It's not a date! It's a job!! Just because Yato invited me, doesn't mean it's something important!!! The idea made me more nervous than facing a huge phantom, or even Bishamon! This is much more nerve racking than all of those combined!!
