Chapter 3

Crystal in hand, Anastasia barely got two blocks away before Rumple appeared in front of her, snarling, "Nice try dearie but you're going to hand that back to me now or you won't see tomorrow." Anastasia stopped and took a step back but didn't look too worried. In fact, a smile started to creep on her face, "I'm sorry, but I won't be doing that, you see I need this crystal."

Rumple snarled more, "Have it your way then," his dagger appeared in his hand and he held it up as if to strike her with it and at the same time Anastasia held up her free hand to use her magic. Before either of them could do anything, however, Emma had shouted, "Hey! Hey! What's going on here?!" and she hurried over and stepped in between them to stop any further harm to either of them. Hook had followed her out of the library and ran over to see what was going on and make sure nothing bad happened to Emma.

Fortunately, earlier Emma had finally managed to convince Snow and Charming to go home so they could put Neal down for a nap and they weren't in harm's way.

Rumple gritted his teeth at Emma, "This has nothing to do with you Miss Swan so I suggest you leave and let me handle it." Emma looked back at him as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing, "Yeah, last I checked I'm still sheriff around here so it is my business."

"And watch who you're threatening crocodile," added Hook, frowning at Rumple. Emma held up her hand, "Look I don't know what's going on here, but.." she stopped once she saw the crystal in Anastasia's hand, her eyes widening, "How did you get that?" she looked back up into Anastasia's eyes, cautiously. The newcomer's eyes darted from Emma's to Rumple's, "Ask him, he's the one I stole it from darling."

Emma looked quickly at Rumple, "What do you want with that crystal?" "My reasons are my own," Rumple retorted, eyes lowered in increasing frustration and anger, "but she's going to give it back to me before she regrets ever stealing from me!" he shook his blade threateningly at Anastasia, glaring at her. "Put your little toy away before you get hurt," Anastasia shot back.

"Neither one of you is keeping it," Emma held out her hand to Anastasia, "I don't really know who you are, but I suggest you give it to me, it's really dangerous in the wrong hands," she gave Anastasia a serious look, hoping to at least frighten her with the truth to hand it over to her.

Anastasia scanned the ground as if thinking about it but as her eyes met Emma's hazel ones, a grin crept slowly on her face, "Sorry, darling, but this is needed elsewhere," and with that a portal started to open between them so that Rumple, Emma and Hook had to back away quickly as it grew larger. Emma's wide eyes looked down at the swirling purplish blue hole in the ground, Hook looked confused and Rumple had panic in his eyes.

"Say goodbye to the Olympian Crystal," and her hand opened so that the crystal fell from her grasp, fell into the swirling hole and as soon as it was gone, so was the portal.

Anastasia laughed with glee.

"No!" shouted Rumple then glared at Anastasia once more, "you will regret that." Anastasia gave him a teasing pout, "Aw did I upset the Dark One." "Hey!" Emma grabbed Rumple's attention, holding a hand in front of him and giving him a stern look, "I will handle this, she doesn't have the crystal anymore so you can't do anything about it right now, killing her won't solve anything for any of us."

Rumple didn't want to get into a big fight with the savior so he backed down, but he looked back at Anastasia, teeth gritted, "Watch your back around here dearie, the heroes can't always shield you," then he left back to his shop.
