Sam's POV

"Do not cut the heads." Said a voice in my head.

Was I going mad? I don't know, but I quickly whispered to Maya. "Whatever happens, do not cut the heads." Maya looked at me like I was crazy. (which I probably was.) "why not?!" I looked at her.

"Every head will grow two more." The voice said. I quickly replied. "If we cut one head, every one will grow two more." She nodded, a look of determination on her face. I ran to the hydra and dodged a head that was about to snap me in half, I slashed with my sword and I managed to barely make any damage. Great, just great.

"Watch out!" I heard Maya say, I turned around and saw one of the heads going towards me. I saw a fireball hit the head, it turned around to Maya and she yelped and threw another fireball. "Thanks!" I don't even know why the heck didn't I freak out. We looked at each other and made a quick plan. We both ran towards the body of the monster.

Dodging heads and saving the other, we managed to get under it.

We both grabbed my sword and stabbed the thing in the stomach. The hydra exploded and we got covered in Golden dust.

"Ew..." We said at the she time. Then we got up to see Grover passed out on the grass.

"Great, now how do we take him?" Said Maya. I quickly replied. "I'll carry him." She looked at me. "You sure? He doesn't seem like he's as light as a feather..." I chuckled. "I'm pretty strong." She just nodded and grabbed the backpack.

I walked towards the satyr and I somehow managed to put him on my back. Maya looked at me. "You sure you don't need help?" I shook my head. "I'm okay. Thanks." She shrugged and started walking. I walked to her side and we both looked for any sign of Camp, again...

Maya's POV

I haven't used my power in ages, and when I did, it wasn't a large amount like I just used. So, if Sam had actually needed my help, I wouldn't be able to. Who knew a few fireballs could drain you?

This was going to take forever! How did Grover even pass out!?

"Now we have no guide, directions, or anything!!!" I yelled in frustration.

"Oh, c'mon! We've got this!" Sam said determined. Heh. It's amazing how that girl can keep a positive attitude on, no matter what happens.

I laughed under my breath and then said, "Yeah. I mean, what else could go wrong?"

Honestly though, I should've kept my big mouth shut, because after about an hour of walking aimlessly, I felt a sharp pang in my right leg. The left one followed shortly after.

My legs felt like they were on fire, which I can check off of my bucket list now. In habit, I looked at them. My right leg was gushing blood and some other sort of liquid, coming out of what looked to be a bite mark. Just looking at it made me feel nauseous.

Sam looked back as she noticed that I had stopped.

"Oh my god! Maya, what happened!?" Sam asked worriedly, dropping Grover, taking her hoodie off and starting to press it on the bite.

"I t-think the Hydra g-got me." I stuttered out, writhing in pain.

"Can you get up?"

"I-I don't know."

Sam grabbed my arms and helped me up, which let me tell you, is horribly, terribly painful. That broken leg, arm or whatever, is nothing compared to this!

After a bit we reached the edge and saw what seemed like a camp. It was filled with kids of various ages, in bright orange t-shirts, running around. Others were doing another activity though, such as, archery or sword fighting.

Another pang appeared, worse than the others, and made me collapse. I fought to keep my eyes open which was a task that was getting harder by the second. I saw some of the kids start to run over, when I saw someone I hadn't seen in four years: My brother.

"Maya!?" He yelled questioningly running even faster with two girls and a boy behind him.

Another boy, one with blonde hair, looked up at him confused. "You know her?"

"Yeah. She's my sister."

That was the last thing I saw or heard, because everything in my vision faded to darkness.
