Look at and read the picture!! It's crucial to the story.

Toby smiled. He was glad, glad he finally made the soccer team. All of his friends did too, like Brady, Sam, Liam, James, and Max. There were a few other various people from his school on the team, and there even was a new kid joining. It's not like they mattered to Toby, all that was important was that he made it. He smirked as he got into Liam's car. He would do great. He'd be the star. Who would outshine him? Brady? No. Max? As if. Liam, cute. But no.

He thought about his mom who had just waved goodbye to him, hand in hand with his father. Touching. That was one of the crucial things in society. The world was devoid of color, whatever that was. When born, everything you see is black and white. You only get to experience color if you find and are in direct contact with your soulmate.

Toby contemplated this thought for a bit.

Once they arrived at the field he immediately noticed a boy his age. This must be the new kid on the team.... Noel was his name if Toby recalled correctly.

Anyway. Toby was gay as fudge. He knew that much. Everyone knew that much. And this boy. He was hot. With his brown eyes (not that he'd know) and curly styled up hair.

Was he going to do anything, nope. Toby's honestly a chicken.

He set his water bottle down and shuffled with his drawstring bag.

Suddenly, his name was being called. Brady alerted Toby the game was about to start, and he was on defense. He got into position and prepared. Soon enough the game was in progress and he was running around trying to keep the soccer ball away from the goal. He was so into the game. He was very disappointed when it was time for Liam to switch places, and he sat down on the bench.

Covered in sweat, he chugged half of his bottle of water. That was a rough game. He was working his butt off, and so far it was paying off. They were up 4 points.

He felt the look of another on his back, and he turned around slowly only to meet the eyes of one Noel Ingra. He gave Toby a small smirk and sat down next to him.

They chatted for a while until Toby found out Noel came from France, is Croatian, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Noel stood up because his name was called to be goalie and Toby's was called to be offense. He patted  Toby on the shoulder while saying "good luck" and hurried away.

Toby looked up in surprise after he patted him. He SWORE he just saw something. Color. He saw color. Noel's touch caused him to see color! Toby smirked and hurriedly looked for Noel, who was rushing towards the goal. He tried to call out to him, because this guy was his soulmate, but his coach told him to get on the field.

He had to admit he was very distracted, as he met his soulmate! How excited he was. Whiteout thinking he crashed into somebody, and saw color. It was Noel.

He was amazed, and stayed where he was to absorb the wonderful scenes around him.

"Uhh, Toby? Can you get off me?" It was Noel.

Toby laughed and got off. He said "wow. That was breathtaking wasn't it? I can't believe I actually can see it!"

Instead of being amazed and laughing with Toby, Noel raised an eyebrow.

"What? Everything was the same??"

Toby's heart stopped. He couldn't see it. He didn't see color with him. He was in shock, not realizing when he was taken off the field, while the game continued.

This wasn't possible. This couldn't have happened.

Toby, without thinking, ran into he forest nearby. No one noticed.

He cried.
