"The Truth"

You can't hide from it,
It's inside of you.
You can't lie about it,
It'll define you.

There is one solution,
You could tell the truth.
Before you're pulled under,
And unable to move.

It'll manipulate and destroy,
Only to leave an empty void.
You can contain the glorious proof,
But are you sure about what that lie can do?

It's twists and turns in every direction,
Making a maze with no exit.
Creating an arduous path,
Only to create a trap.

But is it too hard to beat?
Has the grave snatched both of your feet?
All you had to do was tell the truth.
It's something even a simpleton can do.

Hey, guys! Thank you so much for being so fantastically (is that even a word? -I don't think so, but that's how much I care about y'all, I make up words LoL) supportive of me as a beginner and being so encouraging! I couldn't ask for better muggles/fellow witches & wizards ;P Anywhooo, I've seen these quite a bit and I've decided to make a poem cover contest for this poem!! ***There will be 1-3 winners-- depending on the number of entries!!***
