I walked towards Drew's bedroom door.
I knocked on the door twice and waited for an answer.
Taking a deep breath I decided to just barge in.
"Drew, can we just talk?" I asked as I walked in. "I'm tired of you ignoring me."
He was laying across his bed, with his headphones on. He was shirtless and had on surfer shorts. He had two pencils in his hand, drumming imaginary drums.
"Huh?" He asked taking his headphones out.
"You're ignoring me."
"Yeah."
"You're admitting it?"
"Yeah."
"Is that all your gonna say?"
"No."
"Wow new choice of words."
"Don't."
"Don't what?"
"Don't go all snappy at me."
I turned around to go walk out, I didn't have the time for this.
"Wait." He called as he got up.
"The reason I was ignoring you was because you always decline every offer I tell you that involves spending time with me. As if you hate me or something." He said scratching the back of his neck.
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard," I said as an exaggeration. "You know why? One, because I only declined the ice skating thing yesterday I don't "always" decline your offers. Two, because I didn't want to go ice skating, I wasn't purposely saying it to not spend time with you. And three, I don't hate you." I said turning around to walk out of the room. And this time he didn't stop me.
---
"Megan, Rachel." My mom called from the living room. Rachel and I both got up from the kitchen stools.
"Yeah." I said.
"I'm going to go to Ariana's House right now if you guys want to come."
"Nah." Rachel said walking out.
"Mom why are you going to Ariana's house?" I asked.
Ariana was one of our old family friends. We used to see her a lot. I used to be really close with there daughter, Emma. But something happened between our family's and we never spoken again. She had jet black hair and blue eyes. I really missed her I've only seen her once since we were little. And that was in 2nd grade. We never spoke or heard from each other again.
"Her mom called and said she needed to talk, finally for all these years. She will admit it." She said.
"Admit what?" I asked.
"Hunny that's not my place to tell you right now, you'll find out later maybe."
Curiosity.
"Okay." I said as we walked to the door.
"WAIT!" Someone screamed from the stairs. I looked up.
Drew.
He was trying to button up his shirt, as if he rushed to get dressed.
"Rebecca," He said. "Can I come with you guys?" He asked politely.
I scoffed.
"Yes hunny,"My mom said giving me a death glare. "We're going to stop to get some food on the way." She stated.
I hurried out of the house and into the car. I left the passenger seat open so Drew could sit in it. I took the seat directly behind the passenger seat. Drew smirked then open the door behind the drivers seat. He scooted, over so he was in the middle seat way to close to me.
I opened the door signaling I was going to move up one seat.
Drew grabbed my waist and pinched the side, cause me to hit my hip against the armrest.
"Owh," I groaned.
"Sowweyyyy," He said like a child.
"Don't touch me," I growled pushing his hand away.
"Feisty I like dat." He said in a ghetto voice.
I could help but crack a smile.
"Sit," He ordered.
"Whatever," I said with a shrug.
My mom finally got out of the house and I saw Rachel lock the door from the inside.
"We're going to McDonalds first," she said.
We pulled up into the drive way and Drew asked me what I wanted. My mom answered for me, stating the obvious thing I always get when it's in season.
"Shamrock Shake," She said.
Drew whispered,"Strawberry Shake."
My mom repeated it and got the same thing Drew got with burgers and fries.
Once we got our orders, Drew grabbed my Shamrock Shake and took a long sip.
"Jackson and Jared," He took another sip. "Would hate this."
I didn't question why even though I was curious to know why. I would find out later. I snatched it from him changing the straw.
"Why?" He said.
"Why what?" I asked.
"You switched the straw." He said.
"Yeah..." I said. "I don't want to taste your spit."
"That's offending," He said with a pout.
"That's hygiene," I corrected him.
I took a sip and looked out the window and to the greenish blue sky.
As I was looking away I felt my shake move. I looked over the see Drew's mouth on my straw. He took a sip then licked around it with his tongue. I didn't care to stop him.
"You're disgusting," I said scrunching my nose.
"How are you going to switch the straw now?" He asked.
"I'll wash it when we get to Ariana's house," I said with a smile.
"What if I back washed?" He asked.
"But you didn't," I said.
He grabbed the shake. My jaw dropped. 'He better' not I thought in my mind.
But he didn't do what I thought he was going to do. Instead he put the straw in my open mouth.
"Ewwwwww," I said. "I taste Drew spit."
My mom shook her head as we drove down the road.
~~~~~~~~
We pulled up to Ariana's house and we all got out of the car. Her house was big maybe even the same size as my house.
Ariana opened the door and she looked different.
Instead of her jet black hair, she had blonde hair. She still had her crystal blue eyes and big smile.
"Hunny," she said giving me a hug.
I hugged her back awkwardly.
"Emma can't wait to see you," She said.
"Mom I didn't even say that," I heard a faint voice in the background say.
The door opened wider and instead of seeing my old best friend with jet black hair and crystal blue eyes.
I saw blonde hair, Emma Charm.
