Many adventures await me...
Thought Grace as she lazily slipped out of her bed, it was early in the morning, the cold breeze whistled against their small cottage.
So. Im sixteen now..
The thought excited her yet scared her aswell. Many opportunities and responsibilitys awaited her in the future. She was warned she had to stop training. The fact made her sick.
Having to sit around house dusting and cleaning like any other female just wasn't her.
Grace headed out the cottage quietly minding not to awaken Jamin.
The grass was wet with dew, puddles of water rested every few meters.
The trees no longer had their lush green leafs, the sunshine was no longer invisible, the children no longer played outside since the weather so too cold and gloomy.
The small town held about forty adults and nine children.
Grace scrolled around the edge of the small village, admiring the last of the autumn flowers.
Beautiful...
Everything was so peaceful, the village was hidden by the mountains surrounding it, the town hadn't had a attack for at least twelth years.
Grace started heading back to her home when she saw Alex, her friend she had since she was three, Alex and Grace shared a trainer, which of course was Jamin. Since then they never left eachothers side.
"Alex, greetings."
"Back to you. I heard it was your birthday, am i correct?"
"Who told you?"
"I saw Jamin yesterday. He told me."
"Aye, of course."
"He gave you a book about dragon riders, i was wondering if i could borrow it?"
Grace paused before awnsering.
"Im afraid you can't, forgive me."
"I understand, but is there a reason for this?"
"Yes..." She paused awkwardly. "One of Morns grandchildren ripped it up, i still have the pieces but i have nothing fix it with."
Alex's eyes widened.
"I have some tape at home, Come around to my house later, we can fix it together."
Grace nodded and walked off.
Soon she was back home with Jamin.
"Grace, where were you?"
"I was with Alex."
A smile curved on Jamins lips, he looked as if he wanted to laugh.
"What?" Exclaimed Grace angrily.
"Its nothing Gracy."
"Yes. Its nothing at all" Grace stared at her uncle until he was forced to look away.
"Well, happy birthday young one." He said still feeling awkward.
"Thankyou" a smile formed on Grace's face.
Grace walked up to the tiny cupboard and got some bread and grabbed a bottle of milk out the freezer box.
Jamin disappeared into the hallway.
What is he doing?
Thought Grace.
Jamin came back and approached Grace holding her gift behind his back.
"Once again, happy birthday Gracy."
He said smiling
"You didn't have to get me anythi-'
Before Grace could say anymore he revealed a huge rock from behind his back, it sparkled black and blue, with the Occasional spot of emerald green.
Grace carefully took it from his arms.
"Im sorry..." Said grace. "What is this?"
Jamin smiled.
"It's... A rock."
"A rock?"
"Yes. A special rock."
"Thankyou Jamin, its beautiful." Said Grace still confused.
"My apologizes, I must leave now. Alex invited me to his house, so we can repair something." She said.
"Something?" Jamin said wanting a awnser.
Grace rushed out with the book pieces hidden in her jacket before she was forced to give Jamin an awnser.
She would hate him to know that the book he gave her was destroyed by a younger child.
She ran to Alexs small house as fast as she could, still minding that she was holding the rock in her arms, it started pouring with rain, Grace cursed loudly.
"Why now?!"
Alex's house was on the other side of the village, sure the village was small, but it was a long walk.
Then.. The rain randomly stopped. All gone.
Grace looked up to see a small umbrella covering her.
Alex.. She thought as she turned to see him smiling.
"Happy birthday Gracy. I got you a umbrella" he laughed
"Thankyou" Grace grinned as she offered to share it with him.
Alex stepped under the umbrella with her as the rain continued, lightning strucked every now and then.
They both walked to the little cottage Alex lived in, both talking and laughing on the way.
They stepped through the door and sat down.
Grace layed down the pieces of the book on the small coffee table in the living room.
"There..." She said saddly.
"Dont be upset Grace, i can easily fix this."
She looked up to him, standing in the hallway with his wet blonde hair in his face.
"Thankyou.."
Alex smiled.
"Its my pleasure"
They both sat down, Alex gave Grace a roll of tape.
Soon the book was fixed, all pages were in order neatly.
"See Gracy, we did it."
"Yes we did." Se replyed
"Would you like a tea?"
"That would be great."
Alex took off into the kitchen and made Grace a tea. Grace sat on the tiny sofa and curled up. The house was freezing cold.
The weather outside became furious. The wind blew violently against the home. hail, snow and rain dropped quickly to the ground.Jamins view.
She is ready.
My lil grace is ready.
She has the power to protect the land, kill the king... Survive.
I pray my 2nd student, Alex is there for her.
Now's my time to flee, i must get out of here before Gracy gets home.
Farewell Teria..
Grace, I will see you in Deliera.Graces view:
Alex approached her with the hot tea.
"For you."
"Thankyou, Alex."
They sat together... chatting, laughing
"Grace, maybe you should stay here for the night, its extremely dangerous outside, a little girl like girl could get blown off their feet."
"Little girl? Wish to challenge me in a fight, Alex?"
"Grace, i was just kidding. Now awnser my question."
"Fine, i shall stay."
Alexs view:
Her beautiful hazel eyes...
Grace...
I wish i could tell her how i feel, how i think about her every single little day.
I want her so bad.
I need her.
"Grace? I say.
"Yes, Alex?"
"I have a gift... For you"
"Alex...." she sighs.
A smile shot across her face. Her beautiful smile.
Finally... Master told me to give this to Grace for him... My grace will be given one of the worlds most cherished gifts, and hardly know about it..
Till later of course. He thought.
Graces view:
Alex walked into his room, she heard him crash around for awhile, then he fianlly came out.
"Grace... Cherish this gift with your life, it will guide you through tough times." He said seriously.
"Alex, what is this..." She replyed
"Master Jamin told me to give this to you."
He pulled out a sword, sliver blade, golden handle and a large diamond on the trim.
"I have a matching sword" he said "but it just has a ruby on the trim instead of a diamond"
Graces eyes filled with tears, she had always wanted a sword.
"When the two swords are put together... They create the ultimate strength, that means we shall be by eachothers side... Forever." He said
"Your my bestfriend Alex" said Grace
Alex thought to himself, bestfriend?
He looked to see Graces large smile crossing her face, with tears in her eyes.
Thats my girl...
