Jackie Favelle

It was a strange feeling I had when I saw Chris and Tracy kiss. This feeling inside me was growing more intense and it only increased the amount of questions I was asking myself.

My thoughts are interrupted by someone saying my name repeatedly. "Hmm?" I respond. "You and Teddy," someone says. We turn to look at each other at the same time - horrified, then the two of us start rambling on and on. It's all a bunch of "no's" and "no ways." Chris buds in and tells us both to "shut up."

Our mouths stay shut. "You guys can just hug then." Teddy and I look at each other, smile and nod. "Of course we'll hug each other." We raise both of our arms and pull each other in to a tight hug.

The sole reason I hadn't kissed Earl is so I wouldn't hurt the feelings of anyone. And here I am hurt. I am hurt over a kiss that I didn't do. I can't pinpoint the reason I was feeling this way.

I hold my hand out for her to grip as she jumps out of my window. When she gains her balance on the ground, I do not let go of her hand.

Jackie didn't seem to mind me holding her hand.

We walk for about five minutes - still hand in hand. She stops walking to tell me something. "If these girls inside plan anything eventful tonight.. please don't be mad at me." I face her and caress her free hand. "We're fine darling. Trust me."

Coming to this stupid party was a dumb idea. I thought it would be fun to spend time with Jackie and the boys and to relieve her worries about hanging with a new group of people.

To watch Jackie kiss another boy was not on my to-do list.

"Hey Chris. Come here." Tracy scooted over and I saw that the bottle was pointing towards her and I. My actions were controlled by anger and jealousy. Our lips connected, but it was nothing special. Tracy didn't want to let go of me when I tried to pull away.

I glanced towards Jackie and gulped aggressively when I saw her facial expression. The boys were grinning and giving nods of approval. My only focus was Jackie because I've never seen her this way before and I couldn't describe what it was like.

A loud knock at the front door startled all of us which drove us all to panic. "Go go go. Get out. Get out." Was all we needed to hear before all of us boys scattered out the back door.

Jackie was sitting on the sofa in the corner of the room. Her eyes met mine for a split second one last time and I can see she was trying to mask her feelings as she grinned slightly. Gordie, Vern, Teddy, and myself ran to the treehouse after that.

The four of us panting and sweaty. I felt guilty about my actions, moreso they were driven with anger.

The other three boys aside of me had noticed my long face. "Hey Chris, what's up?" Gordie asked. "I just didn't like the way I had gotten mad at Jackie for kissing that kid. And before we went to Tracy's I told her I wouldn't if something like that happened."

"You were jealous." Vern states.

"You like her." Teddy also says.
