Her cackling laugh was loud enough to shatter glass, which had me confusingly wonder why it didn’t. Once her amusement died down she gave me a toss of her blonde hair and smiled. “Oh Valentine I don’t remember you being this funny. Especially considering you were my supposed best friend. However that title was forgotten soon after you left me in my pool of stupidity when I realized that you were the reason my boyfriend dumped me.” She spoke a slow glare heating in her eyes soon spreading to the frown on her lips.

And there goes the crazy bitch siren…”Well think of it this way, I saved you from dating a narcissistic, evil misogynist.” I smiled easily and she rolled her eyes. “Yes, but he was MY narcissistic evil misogynist.” She argued.

“Don’t take this personally Sarah, but what the fuck are you doing here?” I asked turning my back to her as I began walking towards the office desk.

“I don’t have an answer to that question considering I ended up here by accident.”

I swirled around quickly to face her. “What do you mean “by accident”?” I asked placing my hand on my hips. She rolled her eyes. “About a week or so after you left I went for a walk, next thing I know I blackout. When I woke up, I was laying here on the floor with one of those revival needles in my chest.”

It took a moment for my head to wrap around what she just told me. That story makes absolutely no sense! Someone would have had to bring her here because she couldn’t have possibly brought herself here while unconscious. If that is true, then who the fuck would bring her here?

“Don’t bother trying to figure it out, trust me, you’ll hit a dead end just like I did.” She spoke sitting on the desk. Sitting in the swivel chair obverse to the desk, I logged onto the computer. There was no password, only a list of files belonging to all known werewolves. Clicking on the names, Victoria and James West, I awaited my parents’ information. However that was not the case. Their file read “Terminated”.

A small humorous chuckle left my mouth.

Terminated, yeah…sure. The werewolf régime is so transparent. I find it hard to believe that my parents have been caught. Let alone killed. Shrugging again I decided to take a look at Warren’s Pack weaknesses. Apparently they had none, considering they were the second largest pack in all of America. I sighed feeling cooped up in this shack all of a sudden. Looking over the walls I descried what seemed to be a black cherry wood door. Standing up I began making my way towards it curiously.

“It’s just a bedroom. And I called it already, so good luck on the couch.” She spoke. I turned around swiftly to espy the smirk on her face. I began to laugh lightly, “As if I’d planned on sleeping.” I continued through the door to see the bedroom. The bed was ruffled and messy. There were no windows, only two lamps and a ceiling light. Furthering into the room, I went towards another door to see the most magnificent thing I’ve seen since Adonis. A rainfall shower. I smiled widely.

You better believe I’ll be in there before my departure.

I bit my lip as my mind thought back to Adonis. Maybe I should call him and let him know I’m okay… I mean what harm could it do? On that note, I turned heading towards the phone by the desk. Plopping back on the swivel chair I picked up the phone dialing his Pack house number. Just then I noticed Sarah had disappeared from her spot on the desk. Pacing the room with my eyes, I noticed she was standing by the front door with her arms crossed looking ruthful.
