'I hope it's not too late' Guo Jia thought running faster than before. He was worried, worried that Cao Cao could find out the true identity of the girl if she enters in that place. Because of the deeply love that Cao Cao feels towards her daughter, he can recognize her perfectly even if she is disguised as someone else. 'I know how much you love you daughter, Cao Cao, but even if she is now part of Cao Family, in the past she was my little sister so I don't plan to return her to you...'
Guo Jia accelerated his steps and began to climb those long stairs leading him to the throne room hopping that she had not entered yet. For his luck, the girl was still in the door so he feels a bit relieved.
(y/n) knocked the door waiting for Cao Cao's reply before entering. After hearing Cao Cao's permission, (y/n) opened the huge gate to enter in that room.
—Here's your tea, Cao Cao-sama— she said about to walk towards the warlord when Gou Jia suddenly stops her.
—Don't worry, I will deliver the tea so please wait for me outside— the blonde takes the tray away from her hands and pushed her out of the room. This scene was so strange that it caught the warlord attention. With the tray in his hand, Guo Jia walked close to Cao Cao and places the tray over the desk placed in front of the throne —Here's your tea, Lord Cao Cao— he said serving him a cup — If you excuse me...— Guo Jia turned around about to leave when his lord voice stopped him.
—I want to know something, Guo Jia... Who's that girl and for what reason you ordered her to stay outside while you brings me the tea I ordered? —
—That's because...— Guo Jia was in a difficult situation. With the housekeeper, the excuse of her being his fiancée was fine but if he say that to Cao Cao, he will surely want to meet the girl who caught his heart. In the middle of his thoughts he seemed to hear (y/n)'s voice telling him what he could say in order to escape from that situation so he decided to say what he heard— because it's her first day, my lord. Because she is a little shy, she will be unable to do her work properly if she is in presence of such a powerful and important person like you...—
—Is that so? Well... you can leave now. Please take a rest because you will join the battle tomorrow in the morning...— Guo Jia bowed to his lord before leaving the room hopping that Cao Cao didn't suspect anything about what happened.
~Time Skip~
Gou Jia accompanied (y/n) in her way back to Xiahou Dun's room. He was carrying the scrolls she selected from the library while she was walking at his side; both of them talked and laughed about whatever that come to their minds. That moment was really peaceful but since (y/n) arrived at this place knowing that she maybe princess Cao Jie, she hasn't had those nightmares anymore.
When they arrived at the Xiahou Dun's room and entered in it, they found a worried Ton-chan searching desperately around the entire room making a mess. He seems really worried so they walked close to him.
—Ton-chan...Are you alright? — (y/n) asked attracting the officer's attention to her. Once he saw her, he run to her and carried her in his arms about to cry because of the worry.
—Where have you been? When I returned and didn't found you here I thought that something bad happen to you—
—Sorry to have you worry but I decided to go to the library to take some new scrolls and return here as fast as I could but in my way I saw Guo Jia and memory fragments returned to my mind and I accidentally dropped the scrolls...— Then she started to tell everything what happening earlier with the help of Guo Jia. Xiahou Dun was surprised for what she was saying to him that he cannot even believe it. How was possible that he really managed to find the real princess so easy like that? They searched about six years around the entire kingdom trying to find her, but she never appeared and now he managed to find her so easily and without even trying? Was the destiny playing with them?
—Excuse me Xiahou Dun... I want to ask you something. If you managed to find her, why didn't you tell it to Cao Cao? — Guo Jia asked.
—The truth is that I wasn't sure if she was really the princess or no. I wanted to be totally sure of that so I keep her in this place searching for a way to introduce her with the other officers without rising suspicious— Xiahou Dun answered releasing the girl and stepped back. (y/n) walked close to Guo Jia and turned around to see the general.
—Ton-chan... I thought it for a while and... I want to go with Guo Jia. I want to stay with him and pass time by his side; we have been separated for much time so now I want to pass some time with my brother and...—
—Brother? — Xiahou Dun suddenly interrupted (y/n). How is possible that she known that? Cao Cao adopted her when she was about four years so she shouldn't remember that she was Guo Jia's little sister. Did Guo Jia say that to her?
—Yeah, Guo Jia is my brother. I don't know why you said to me that I was the princess Cao Jie but if I go with Guo Jia, I can discover it. My brother is very intelligent so I'm totally sure that he will find a way to introduce me with the other officers from Wei without rising suspicious. So thanks for everything, Ton-chan— she thanked to the general before taking the few things she have at Xiahou Dun's room and walked out of the room with Guo Jia accompanying her.
Xiahou Dun only stayed there still watching to the place where she was before. Was it right to leave her do that? He wasn't sure but if that was her decision, he will just accept it.
—I known I don't have the rights to stops you but because this is your decision I'll accept it. I hope you can remember us completely someday but until then, I will keep you as a secret between me and Guo Jia...—
~In Guo Jia's room~
(y/n) entered in his brother room and leaves her stuffs in the floor. She stared at the room while Guo Jia entered and closed the door behind him.
—Do you remember this place? —He suddenly asked hugging her from behind.
—Yeah, I remember it. We used to stay here time after we arrived at Wei palace. In this room I learned so many things from you and was in this room that we made that promise...—
—Yeah, the promise to do what our parents wanted for us...— he recharged his head over (y/n) shoulders and started to remember the last wish of his parents —Changing the matter... because we are short of officers I will be sent to battle tomorrow but I don't know how longer I can fight so...— Guo Jia was about to say something when he suddenly started to cough and he fell to the ground. Worried, (y/n) turned around to help but her face becomes pale when she saw blood coming out from his brother's mouth.
—Nii-san...nii-san...Are you alright? You won't go to die, right? —she helped him to stands up and walked him to the bed and forced him to sit over it. What disease was that? She never seen anything like that or read about it in the scrolls. Was it serious? She didn't know but her intuition told her that it was a serious disease and that he could die at any moment— I want to go too...— she finally takes the decision to go to the battlefield with him— I want to help you and make sure that you can return safe to my side. You can use me as you want as long as you can avoid making too much effort; I will be you weapon...—
—But (y/n)...I cannot ask you that... What if something happens to you? I would never forgive myself if that happens— he keeps complaining but she forced him to lie in the bed while she leaned over him.
—Nothing will happen because I know how to fight... you always protected me since we were kids so now it's my turn to protect you, nii-san...—(y/n) bring her face more close to Gou Jia's and kissed him trying to wipe away all the blood he coughed; time after she feels sleepy so she lie beside his brother and recharged her head over his shoulder and hugged him.
—thank you, (y/n)... I love you...— he said moving a bit to take off his shoes as well as hers too and returned to her side and cover with a blanket.
—I love you too, nii-san...—she replied and closed her eyes about to sleep but then she realized something. Why this time was different? When she was at Wu she said to Lu Xun that she 'likes him' but with Guo Jia she said 'love'. Did she really love him despite being her brother? She though it for a moment but decided to leave it be. 'What if he's my brother? I still love him and just like our parents wanted, I will marry him someday...' with that last though, she finally closed her eyes and sleep, thanks to the heat that comes from his brother's body.
