Epilogue: the swallow and the demon ~ a light in the storm

Even though Lu Xun and (y/n) wanted to live peacefully, it was impossible to do it since they were still in territory of Wei.

Time after they left Wei, the other kingdoms found that out and started a war to claim her as their property. All of them want her to join their army no matter what and sent countless of soldiers and generals towards them. At first (y/n) was killing everything that got in her way but as it continues, Lu Xun scolded her for do than and instead ordered her to let them live and keep escaping from them.

—Lu Xun... we cannot keep running away from them...— she complained at him while Kirin was trying to lost some soldiers chasing after them— and I cannot kill them because you asked me to... so what do you suggest? What can we do to stop running away? — Kirin finally reached a forest that was surrounded by fog and thanks to that he managed to leave behind those soldiers.

—Sorry...I don't know... I asked you to stop killing them since I'm still not accustomed to see death people...— Lu Xun apologized— but if things keep going like this, I think that we will need to leave this country and go to another place...—

—That must be the better option but... where can we go? I don't know what will wait for us out of this country...—Kirin continued running towards that forest. The fog started to disappear and when the couple could finally see their way the horse suddenly stopped in front of a cave entrance— Kirin, what's wrong? Why you did suddenly stopped? —(y/n) asked to her horse and tried to make him move but the horse didn't obey her.

Did something happen to him? (y/n) was a bit worried for her horse since this is the first time that the animal had disobeyed her. She get down of the horse and walked in front of him trying to see if Kirin was alright but she didn't find anything wrong with the horse, he was perfectly fine but then, why didn't he want to follow her orders.

—I was the one who ordered him to stop...— a deep voice came out from the cave entrance and the sound of steps can be heard approaching to them. When the owner of that voice came out from the cave, Lu Xun could see that he was a tall man with a peculiar gray skin and long silver hair along with a halo behind his head; he looks as if he was a god. (y/n) wasn't surprised but happy to see the man what helped her.

—You are...— she didn't know how ask him if he was really her dad. What she sees in the memories Taigong Wang shows to her were a bit confusing so he wasn't sure about many things.

—My name is Susano'o no Mikoto and I'm your father...— he said with a worry in his voice, maybe thinking that (y/n) will hate him for what he does or for another reason. The god was more than ready to accept a punch from her or at least angry words but they never arrived, instead, she was smiling at him.

—I know, Taigong Wang told me...—behind that smile of hers, she was trying to hide hardly her urges to cry. She approached to that man and embraced him before letting her tears fall over his chest— dad...— Susano'o hugged her back and let her cry as much as her want. He stared at her monochromatic hair and hatred appeared in his face but when he remembered the she also have one of her eyes of a different color his hatred only grew.

He broke the hug and pushed her away from him. She was confused at first but decided to ignore it. She walks close to Lu Xun to grabs him by his hand and brings him close to her father.

—Hey, dad... I want you to meet someone, he is Lu Xun and we are...—

—You are currently fleeing from the country, right? —(y/n) was surprised by his words but after all, he was still a god —that's why I decided to help you. Why don't you and Lu Xun come to my castle and live in there? —

—Eh? Did we really can? —she asked happily. Susano'o only smiled at her and nodded —then we will go to live with you, father...—

—That's good to heard but before that, there is still something left to do—Susano'o appeared a dagger and pointed it towards (y/n)'s heart —that darkness is still inside you and the only way to take it out is ripping out your heart...— Lu Xun got worried by those words said by the god and by mere instinct he pulled the girl away from Susano'o and hide her behind him.

—I won't going to let you hurt her; Even if you are her father, you don't have the rights to kill her with your own hands—Susano'o attitude become hostile towards Lu Xun; that little dagger becomes a sword and the god pointed the blade towards the strategist.

—Why don't you keep you dawn mouth shut, human? This has nothing to do with you. She will be living as a goddess from now on so she wouldn't go to need that heart filled by darkness...— (y/n) nodded at those words and passed Lu Xun to return to her father's side.

—It's alright Lu Xun, so please don't worry...—is what she said before approaching to his dad to leave him ripe out her heart. Susano'o takes his sword and pierced it on (y/n)'s chest making her spit blood. After taking out the sword, he put his hand through that hole to take her heart and rip it out of her body.

Just as he expected, her heart was about to be consumed by the darkness. That sight make Lu Xun feel sick, not because it was a freshly plucked heart but because that heart was grotesque; that darkness was like small serpents that fed and lived in her heart. Susano'o destroyed it without a doubt and time after that, the wound on (y/n)'s chest started to disappear.

—Everything has ended now, (y/n), and you are back to where you should have been born... from now on, let's live peacefully the three of us... — Susano'o said before turning around and enter in the cave.

—Thank you very much, father...— (y/n) thanked to the god and turned to Lu Xun and take his hand —let's go...I'm sure that if it's with father, we can live peacefully from now on...—

—If that is what you chose, I'll follow you no matter where you go...—
