The Dog Crisis

Prologue

The year is 3029. Twenty years ago, the humans had an international war. I don't remember clearly, but I think it was under American president Michael Collins that this even started. He sent some of his greatest forces practically all over the world in hopes of power after a few resource disputes.

They had all brought some of the toughest K-9 units with them, mostly German Shepherds and Dobermans. That is when it all happened. The confusion, the terror, the stealing... everything! The civilians of those countries were even murdered as hopes to scare the world into giving in... it did the exact opposite. After global retaliation, the Americans were forced to surrender a peace treaty, giving up every military base they owned and undergoing strict monitoring by other world powers.

Throughout the next years, each American president failed to provide the people with safe job security while having to pay immense debts to the countries that suffered the previously ended war. Then, in the fourth election following the war in 3019, Wyatt Mirk was elected as president and promised to give the American people the jobs they deserved...

Secretly, scientists were ordered to find a way to make dogs stronger... and eventually found out the way to do so. This was all in his plan to defy the treaty's laws of peace until the debts were paid off.  He wanted to start the war again until America emerged as the only superpower.

Then, in 3023... he started it again. Soldiers were redeployed in strong anti-American countries along with their new mutated dogs. But the thing is, after every soldier's death, their unleashed, surviving canine ran away. Wild animals were swiftly murdered by the new dogs that got loose.

There were very few countries that were not immediately attacked, like Japan and most of Russia. Most continents were already under American siege by this point, except most of southeast Asia. Anti-American coalitions were formed but strong resistance groups were hard to come by. This war has become more than a international war: it has become a major global crisis.

Underneath all the human fighting, which seems to have settled down as America may have started losing, the newly endangered animals banded together to fight the dogs, but due to their new enemy's mutations and strength, were barely any match. Especially for cats, the dog's natural enemy. A year into the war when Europe was heavily involved, France tried mutating their dogs as well in an effort to fight off their American counterparts... only resulting in disaster. France then became one of the first countries to fall, losing both their animal and human population to the disaster as the mutations lead to the dogs becoming more virile and reproducing more.
