Chapter 2

"And last but not least, the cafeteria." Simon reached out a hand to open the door and we walked into the cafeteria.

It was huge. A bunch of round and rectangular tables was evenly placed on the floor. In the far right corner two vending machines was located, one with soda and the other one with, was it looks to be, candy.

Simon had given me a tour of the school, and let me just tell you that it was a really fancy school. They had a basketball plan and a gym. A music room and two story library.

"Do you know what time it is?", I asked.

"Let me just check." He picked up his phone from his pocket, "It's time for our second period. Let me see your schedule."

I reached into my backpack and handed him my schedule.

"You have history in room 21b, I have math in 19c. I can walk with you to class." He gave me the paper back and began to walk,

We now stand outside of room 21b. "Thank you so much , Simon, I hope we see each other around."

"No worries, if you want we can eat lunch together, it's just to find me in the cafeteria and sit down with me and my friends." Ha said before walking to his lesson.

I walked into class and found the room almost empty. Just a guy in the back. I began to walk into the back and picked a seat near the window.

"Hello, I'm Catarine." I smiled and looked at the guy. He didn't look back. Rude much? "Hello, do you hear me?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Yes I hear you, but I don't feel like talking. So stop bugging me, will you?" He said in a angry voice and looked up at me.

I twirled my hair in shyness. My face about to turn red. "Well, I'm sorry but a hello isn't so much to ask for." I replied looking back at him.

His eyes met mine. They had the color of the most delicious chocolate. He ran his fingers through his brown hair and let out a sign.

He eyed my face and then the rest of my body. "No worries, babe, but mind your own business." He said with a cocky voice and winked at me.

Did he just babe me? Oh hell no!
"First of all I'm not your babe, second of all I was just trying to be nice." I turned my head around do I didn't have to look at him.

After a few minutes the classroom started to fill with students and the volume raised.
Two girls walked arm in arm and laughed. Another girls walked with her head down and sat down in a chair in the first row.
Then a group of two guys came in. They wore red football-jackets and walked to the back. The guy next to me raised from his chair and made a handshake with the two guys with the jackets. They were obviously friends.
I on the other hand sat silently and alone in the corner.

"Hello class." The teacher walked in and eyed the students. "Today we have a new person in class, welcome Catarine." She smiled at me and continued ,"Catarine do you want to introduce yourself?"

I really didn't but I bag an to talk, "Sure. Hello my name is Catarine but people usually just cal me Cat."

"Thanks for the induction Catarine, I'm Ms Jackson." Her smile was warming and I smiled back.

"Okay, today we will begin with a new project. It will be a group project and before anyone starts complaining, I will be doing the groups."

The classroom quickly filled with "why?", "ah" and "you always decide".

"Okey let's begin. The project will be to present a century or an important event in history. For example the French Revolution or World War One." She reached out and grabbed a note book.

"The groups are as follows." She began to write the groups on the black board. "Lukas and Anna, Jenna and Carin, Adrian and Beth, Jake and Zac, Cole and Sasha and last Catharine and Luke."

Who was Luke? I stared to look around and when I saw that the guy who had babe'd me grin I knew who Luka was and I wasn't the biggest fan of the groups.

"I have given every group a designated event and I will hand out papers enter you have moved to your new partner." Ms Jackson said.

"You move to me babe." Luka said and I stood up and sat down beside him.

I pushed my glasses higher up on my nose and waited to be assigned an event.

Oh god help me.
