Don't Forget ( A Rydellington Fanfic)

          Chapter 1: The Promise

Rydel's P.O.V.

"Promise we'll be best friends forever?"
              "I promise"

"RYDEL!"

"uh...what?" I asked snapping back to reality.

"You were gone again!?!" Riker yelled frustrated. "How many times do I have to say this!? Never........"

Blah blah blah...same old lecture I get everyday.

This is probably a good time to introduce myself. Hi there, my name's Rydel Mary Lynch. I'm 20 years old, I LOVE the color pink (even though I'm a tomboy), I never had a boyfriend or a first kiss...I've once had a best friend when I was little back in Colorado and his name was Ellington Lee Ratliff.

He was one of my best friends until I betrayed him. I remember it like it was yesterday......

"Promise we'll be best friends forever?" He asked holding out his pinky. I laughed. "I promise" and linked our pinkies together.

But disaster stroke when a week later I was moving to L.A. to make my older brother,Riker, pursue his dream of acting.

"You promised!!!!" Yelled Ellington crying.

"I'm sorry" I cried. He was angry.

"I hope you never come back!!!" He yelled running away.

Those words stayed with me until today. I'm never going to forget those word. 

I called for him to come back......

"Come back" I whispered in the verge of tears.

"Rydel......just go" Riker sighed, tired,  of trying to get my attention.

I nodded not looking at him. I was softly crying my way up to my room.

"Honey is everything alright?" My mom, Stormie, said cleaning her hands with a dish towel.

Dang! I thought I was hiding it very well.....

"Um....yea....just tired that's all" I said not looking at her. Something in her voice made it seem like she wasn't going to let it go, but she did.

"OK honey"

"You Promised!"

"Ellington!!" I yelled waking up.

Ever since I left Ellington, I've been crying myself to sleep every night and waking up with the same nightmare, me leaving Ell, I hate this. I wish I could get over him but I can't.

Then mom came rushing in....."oh honey"

"I'm sorry Ellington!!" I cried. "I tried to stop them! I did! I'm sorry!!"

"Shhh" mom said stroking my hair trying to calm down.

"I'm sorry......" I whispered falling back into a deep sleep.

Ellington's P.O.V.

"Ellington! You've got to let her go!!" My friend, Dez, said eating his cereal on the kitchen table.

"I can't!" I said frustrated.

"Dude, YES YOU CAN!" He said again.

"No and again No!" I said getting up to leave my plate in the sink "even if I try I can't"

"OK. Let me think......"

"Ellington!! Come back!!!"

"No....you need to move on" I said shutting my eyes trying not to cry and that memory.

Does she ever think of me?? I always wonder if she still remembers me.

"OK. I got it!" Dez yelled making me jump a good three feet up in the air.

"What is it?"

"Since when were you and her friends??" He asked

"Dez please I know you're trying to help, but remembering is just going to make it worst" I said sitting on the stool next to me.

"Just answer the question"

"Fine. Since kinder" "OK. when did she move??"

I gulped. Don't cry Don't cry. "um....in-when we were nine"

"So that was.....since you're 20..... that's was 11 years ago!!"

I gave a small smile. 11 years of not seeing your best friend.

"Where does she live now??" He asked taking out his notebook.

"I don't know......." I said in a whisper.

"What was that??" He asked again leaning in to hear.

"I don't know ok!" I said louder getting up from my stool. Now pacing around the living room.

"How can you not know?"

"Because I was too depressed over the promise she broke down that I didn't ask her" I said fixing my hair.

"What was the promise??" He asked curiously. Like he isn't already?

"Just some stupid promise I made"

"Go on...." he urged.

"Well I said we would be best friends forever and she agreed"

"Promise we'll be best friends forever?"
            "I promise"

I smiled at that memory.

"Well that leaves us one choice!"

"That is......" I asked suspiciously.

he smiled wide. Oh no...... I  know that look. Its never a good look.

"We're going to forget about her!!!!!!!"
