We all gather around the TV to watch president Snow announce the Quarter Quell. The Quarter Qwell is when they have the 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th, and so on hunger games except they add a trick to it. We never know what the trick is until it is announced on TV. "Lulu? Lulu where are you?" My mother asks. I yell to her from the bedroom i share with my little sister Rose "I'm in my room.". I walk into the living room not knowing what President Snow will say.
First they start with Artemis Witherclad. She is the woman who always does the live interviews and hosts the actual Hunger Games. Artemis is a very nice person she always turns everything into something funny so it's more amusing then sad during the Hunger Games.
Finally president snow is announced and he starts talking about how they have the games to keep order and that 26 years ago District Thirteen rebelled against the capitol and lost. Finally a boy comes out carrying a box and President Snow pulls out an envelope clearly marked 25. He reads... "In the 25th Hunger Games for the Quarter Quell two people from one family in each district will go into the Hunger Games." I hear gasps in my family. But I can't process what he has said. My mom turns off the TV and I leave the room.
