"I love you, Lulu." Parker says gazing into my eyes. I don't know what to say. I'm just completly silent. My heart feels like its beating out of my chest. The peacekeepers come in and start pulling him back. "You have to win, Lulu!" Parker shouts. And then he's gone.Tyren looks at me with his mouth open in shock. I still can't find the right words to say. "Who was that? And why did he kiss you?" Tyren asks me. All I manage to say is "I don't know." My mind is spinning with thoughts. Does Parker really love me? Did he say that because i'm going to die. Did he say that so that I know that before I die? He wants me to win. I want to tell him that, that is not possible.
We meet our mentors. The girl is Sparkle Sanley, The boy is Makly Stark. They were the winners from the past. We sit down at a table waiting for them to give us advice. "So, can you guys give us some advice?" Tyren asks. "Oh well of course" Sparkle says. Then Makly says "First off what are you guys good at?" "I'm great at throwing spears. Tyren says, "Well i'm good at throwing spears and Lulu is good at..." Then he turns to me, to finish his sentence. "Throwing knives." I say. I had a vision of me stepping off of the plate, running towards the cornocopia...Not making it. "Don't run towards the cornocopia, you'll be dead in a minute." Makly says. I'm not taking that risk. "Ok well what about sponsors?" I ask. "Oh yes sponsors..." Sparkle says. To get sponsors you have to get people to like you basically. If your mentors help you get sponsors, then you will get a gift that will help you in the games. "You need to do everything you can to impress the people. Do something that the people will like." Then Verbal comes in and announces that dinner will be in 15 minutes. I excuse myself from the table and go to my room.
The room is very big. And theres a huge window. "The rooms are pretty nice." Tyren says. I nod in agreement. I sit on my bed and still I can't stop thinking about Parker. His words are stuck in my head. 'I love you, Lulu'. I wish that I could tell him that I love him too. One thing I'm completely sure of is that I have to win. For Parker.
