Throughout Darcie's life, people have only left her. Her mother, her older brother, her friends, and now her father may be leaving too. She's vowed to herself to never let anyone in, so she doesn't feel loss again. She's afraid that she won't be able to handle it if another person she loves leaves. When new kid, Harry transfers to her school she tries to stay away from him, but she can't seem to get him out of her mind. She starts to let him in, but she wants nothing more than for him to leave and get it over with. Harry tries to prove that it will be different, that he's different, but in the end will he just be an addition to the list of people who've left?
