My abilities got better over the last month and I was able to control it much better. The temperature hadn't been extreme like usual just room temperature. Me and Gordon went out for ice cream now and then which was pretty good. I haven't really seen Alex since we got here but now and then I would hear his voice as he headed for his tests. I kind of enjoyed them I learned new abilities each time. I had many like copying people's exact actions, hearing thoughts, moving objects, focusing energy and controlling it, sway the elements like wind, water, fire, and Earth, oh and teleportation which was a new one. Henry said I would soon learn how to even manipulate time.
When I walked inside for my lesson Henry had a bandage on his left shoulder. "Henry what happened?!" I ran to him. "I'm fine Abby don't you worry." I was concerned how he got the wound but decided to not push. "Okay." He smiled, "First things first how are you?" My eyes looked back at his cut, I know I shouldn't but I started to read his mind. I got visions of what happened in pieces of Henry's memories.
"Alex do you trust me."...."Use the knives on the table to hit every point on the board... with me in front if it"..."I did it!" "Almost."I looked at Henry trying not to change my expression. Alex did this to him. "It was only a small cut besides he didn't mean to." he said. I looked over at the glass knowing Gordon was monitoring my brain activity. "You told him?" I sighed. "Sorry sweetheart." he said. I turned to Henry. "I'm sorry I was just so curious..." He held his hand up, "It's fine." I smiled. "Now for today's lesson..." I jumped up and down, "Were stopping time right." He smiled and nodded. "Something like that." Green lights turned on, "These are lights that supress your telekensis abilities you'll have to stop time in order to stop these rubber balls from hitting you. He held one up and stepped back. "Ready?" I tried taking the ball out of his hand but it didn't work. Guess that shows these lights work. "Bring it on." He tossed one and it hit me in my head. "Ouch!" I rubbed my forehead. "That actually hurt which means a lot considering it's rubber." He laughed and got ready to toss another one.Okay okay focus Abby. They ball came at me and hit my arm. "Ouchy!" We did this for about 10 minutes before Henry finally called it quits. "I think we gave you enough bruses for today." "No I can still go." I pleaded. He looked over at the table with knives on them. "Oh no no no!" Gordon said strongly, "We are not putting no one else in danger especially Abby." He picked up a knife and examined it, "Abilities surface when needed in a dire situation." He looked at me, "Do you want to risk it?" I hesitated a knife being thrown at me seeing where the rubber ball landed: chest, face, head, arm all which I didn't want to lose. But if it worked it will surely be worth it. I weakly nodded in agreement. He took a step back, "Ready?" I threw my thumb in the air, "Yup." He aimed for my chest center and threw it.Okay okay I change my mind just make it stop! I held my hand up to block and looked away with my eyes closed. After awhile I realized nothing happened. When I looked up the knife was inches from my hand staring at me with it's sharp pointy end in mid air. "I did it? I can't believe it I stopped time!" I cheered. I looked at Henry who was also frozen. He had a paper in his hand and I went to grab it. It had written on it: Congratulations Abby for manipulating time, I'm proud of you. I smiled and spun around. Time suddenly started up again from slow movements to back to normal. I hugged Henry and heard the knife get stuck in the wall. "I did it!" He hugged me, "Don't get too excited that was only once. I was so happy though. Later we tried the rubber balls again and I was told to only use time to stop the ball and not everything else. 20 minutes later I finally was able to get the handle of it.
The more in control I felt the more wrong I proved Lizza about calling me a demon. Never forget the gift you wield that's what Henry says but I know I never could even if I tried. "I will always remember you." I said to the small fish Gordon bought me. I tapped on the glass as it stared at me and spat out bubbles. I named him Alex.
