"I guess it's time to explain...the situation," I trailed off quietly. I looked at him, searching for his reaction. He only nodded slightly.
"Only if that's okay with you," he said, smiling softly. I nodded slightly, trying to figure out where to start. He pulled me onto his lap, holding me tightly as he rubbed my back and sides. I sighed for what seemed like the one hundredth time today.
"Okay. So, my family...we had a decent sum of money. My dad was the only general surgeon in this town. That meant he was responsible for doing any surgeries on the torso, minus some things with the lungs and heart," I started off.
"So...? What does that have to do with anything...?" he asked, becoming a bit confused.
"I will explain everything if you just give me a moment," I started off again, "So, one day, they were taking my siblings to piano lessons...I haven't seen them since..." I trailed off once again. Immediately, his face fell into a somber look of understanding.
"What happened...?" he asked softly, holding me even tighter against him.
"M-my uncle h-hit them with an eighteen-wheeler...I-it killed everyone except my Mom almost instantly...They left me everything, including the house. T-that's the only reason that I still have this house and d-didn't live in the park like you...I always took care of them, t-that's how I knew what to do for you..." I tried to get out through the sniffles. I quickly hid my face in the crook of his neck, praying that the wetness of my tears wouldn't bother him.
"I'm so, so sorry, I wish I had known. I wouldn't have pressed you for answers if I had known..." he replied guiltily, stroking my hair as I continued to cry.
"I-I should have gone with them that day...I would be with them now," I said, wiping the tears off of my face.
"W-what?! D-don't say anything like that!" Seven replied, sounding as if he was going to start crying himself.
"I-I'm sorry, it's just how I f-feel..." I sighed, hiding my face in the crook of his neck again.
"You're not alone now, please know that. I'm right here. We need each other, you and me. Don't worry about that anymore. I'm here," he whispered hurriedly into my ear, as if I would suddenly disappear if he didn't get his words out fast enough.
"Y-you don't have t-t-too, I've been a-alone before." I felt bad enough that he had to see me like this, let alone somewhat force him to stay with me.
"Please let me stay with you here! I need a place to stay, you need a companion. It could be perfect! Please?" he seemed to be practically begging. I sniffled before nodding and burying myself farther into his warmth.
"Please stay with me..."
