I pouted as he replied, wanting nothing more than to lie down and cuddle with him again for a few more hours. He chuckled as he saw my reaction.
"What?" he asked, unable to wipe off the grin that had formed on his face.
"I wanted to lie there for a bit longer!" I whined, which only caused his grin to take a devilish turn.
"When we're done picking my room, maybe you can stay there with me," he whispered huskily in my ear as he dragged his fingers up my upper arm, causing me to turn bright red and shiver as his hand left a trail of goosebumps. This only made him laugh harder.
"N-no fair! I stuck at flirting!" I managed to stuttered out.
"Too bad, because I'm having too much fun to even consider stopping," he continued to smirk.
He looked so hot like that, I couldn't even reply. I just ran upstairs, but unfortunately, he followed me.
"Aw, does my baby girl not have a response? Did I leave her speechless?" he asked me tauntingly as breathed down my neck. I hid my face behind my hands, trying to keep the blush that was spreading over my face a secret.
"L-let's just pick a room..." I trailed off, leading him to my sister's old room without another word.
The room was one of the largest in the house, with the ceiling raised high into the roof. It had light purple walls with her name spelled out over her bed, along with kitten posters and a flowery mirror. She had a small dresser that was littered in jewelry and small glass figurines as well. I hadn't been in any of my family's bedrooms since the accident, and seeing them again knocked the breath out of me. Seven must've noticed, because he quickly wrapped a supporting arm around my shoulders.
"I don't think this will do, it's pretty girly if you ask me," he smiled softly. He yanked me out of the room and into the hallway. I nodded before pulling him down to my brother's old room.
The room was painted a dark blue, and was a similar size to my sister's. It had an old stereo system on a dresser in the back, along with a few pictures of him and the family. His walls were littered in posters of the Ravens football team. Over top of his bed hung a picture of my brother with our grandpa, the youngest and oldest of the Ross family. I had to look anywhere but where that picture was, and Seven made sure not to hang around too long.
"This might just make the cut. On to the next one!" he enthused, grabbing me by the shoulders and shoving me into the last room on the upstairs floor; my parents'.
This room was painted a light tan color. It had a large wardrobe in the middle, and a few dressers littered in old work, bills, and other random papers. More stuff that I would have to go through. They had a full-length mirror, and it connected to the best bathroom in the house. Nothing too extravagant, just a slightly larger bath tub and shower. There weren't many pictures to upset me, but I still didn't feel like staying.
"Hm, a little showy for me...And definitely too adult-like," he said before ushering me out of the room once again. This time, he dragged me downstairs and took me to the guest bedroom.
This one was again painted a light purple. There was another huge wooden wardrobe next to the bed, practically empty except for the few small things that were stored inside of it. It also had two bedside tables; one that had a picture of my late grandma and another that had a broken clock resting on it. Above the bed, there was a picture of a delicate lily flower. Again, Seven looked displeased.
"A flower? Really? How can one be manly with a flower hanging above him as he sleeps?" he yelled out in playful frustration, causing me to giggle and laugh.
"Well, that's the last of them. Which do you choose?" I asked sweetly, a few giggles escaping here and there.
"Hm...I choose...YOUR BROTHER'S ROOM!" he yelled as he pulled me back upstairs and towards the room. He cheered as if he was a little kid. Gosh, he could be so immature. And I absolutely loved it.
"Okay, okay, I get it," I barely managed to get out through the giggles. He smiled before pulling me close to him.
"Oh, and by the way, I have a job. I can help with the expenses," he smiled, wrapping his arms around my waist. I blushed at the closeness.
"Oh really?" I asked, a coy smile falling over my features. His next response left me breathless, and definitely speechless.
"Oh, yeah. I'm going to make sure nobody ever hurts you again."
