I awoke and looked down: My paws were back to white. This was good. My eyes were still petal purple, though.
I ran through the woods to try to find Coal's pack. I heard crying and smiled. I ran toward the sound. It was the pack from last night. I felt horrible.
The pups were sobbing. "Can you help us? Our family died." They chorused. I started to cry. "I am so sorry. You pups don't deserve this! I did it! I killed them! I am so sorry!" I cried.
They started to scream and wail. It was the loudest thing I had ever heard. "I am so sorry." I said as I ran into the woods.
I wanted to find Coal. He could tame my monster. I started to hear whispering. "I am sorry, Amy. Your monster is coming out tonight. We can't stop it." My wolf said.
I shook my head and cried. "Yes, yes we can!" I argued. I knew it wasn't true. "You know that's not true, Amy. You know." She said and left. I screamed.
I switched to my human and ran around. I found a river. I jumped into it to cool myself off. It was clear and there was a waterfall nearby. It was a light blue and clear. It was the prettiest thing I had ever seen.
My monster seemed to hate it. It was so peaceful. Birds chirped and deer came to drink from it. Flowers, all different colors, bloomed. Nature seemed to love it here.
I swam until the sun started to set. Animals seemed to disappear. Birds stopped chirping and flowers drooped. I looked down at the water below. It was turning black. The waterfall sounded like a growling bear and nature seemed to despise it.
I got out. The moon was coming out. "It's time." My wolf said. I tried to fight the urge to change into my wolf. I gave in.
I morphed into wolf and looked down. I was pitch black and my fur was messy. My fangs still hung out of the corners of my mouth, but they were razor sharp and shiny white.
I was around five feet wide and four feet tall. My claws were bedraggled. I looked at the moon. My eyes turned grey.
I remembered what Coal had said: "just howl at the moon." I howled. Nothing. I howled again. The Moon was like a wolf's goddess.
I gave up. "Take control." I told my monster. I felt it nod. Just as I was about to run, Coal ran towards me.
"Amethyst!" He shouted. My eyes shined grey. "Get out of my way." I said with no emotion. All emotion had disappeared. I only felt one thing, bloodthirsty.
"No! Amethyst, what has happened?" He asked. I looked at him. "Broken heart." I said plainly.
"Now move." I said. I moved to the side but he blocked my way. "No!" He snapped. I pushed him out of my way. I sniffed the ground and followed his scent to the pack.
"I love you, Tiny." I heard him say ever so softly. I sprinted toward his pack, knocking over anything in my way.
When I reached his pack, everyone stared at me and shook with fear.
