It was Jinyoungs 15th birthday, he awoke not feeling any different than any other day it was just another day to him. He put on his new clothes that he received in the mail from an unknown address, this happened every year. He had his theories, perhaps it was a busy uncle who couldn't visit, but he never heard his father speak of any siblings so that probably wasn't the case. He just shrugged it off, like he did every year. He was very grateful to the unknown gift giver as he didn't get new clothes often due to his fathers drunkness and their low income. Although he was extremely curious he didn't have time to investigate and even if he did he probably wouldn't succeed.Jinyoung got a job the earliest he could which was around 12 years old, he delivered newspapers and soemtimes magazines in the more wealthy area of the town. The man who hired him was an elderly fellow who was hesitant to hire the young boy but jinyoung proved to be responsible enough. He usually would wake up early in the morning and deliver them to get it out of the way for the day. It was his final run, he told the elderly man that he was thankful but that he quit. Although he was grateful for the job, he was finally fifteen which meant he could get a real job. He planned to go and apply to jobs the day after his birthday so saturday.
Jinyoung took his usual route to school meeting up at the train station with his friends Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom. They were all in their first year of high school, Yugyeom was the youngest and was in their grade only because he skipped 5th grade. They've been friends since the first year of middle school so all the boys grew quite close over the years.
The three teenage boys all ran to Jinyoung, hugging him and screaming happy birthday. They got on the train and sat in their usual seats in the back.
"JINYOUNG! You're turning 15, do you know what that means?" Yugyeom said happily
Jinyoung didn't think anything was special about turning 15 so he just shrugged
Yugyeom gasped dramatically "ITS THE DAY YOU FINALLY BECOME A WOMAN IN HISPANIC CULTURE" he screamed and everyone in the train looked back at them puzzled.
Youngjae and Bambam were pretending to sob and complain about how their precious daughter grew up too quickly.
Jinyoung hit him in the back of Yugyeoms head "A: I'm not hispanic and B: IM A BOY A BOY"
The three teens snickered and Youngjae said "Easy there Pinocchio."
"It also means 15 punches" Bambam smirked and laughed cracking his knuckles.
"Noooo Bam stay away" Jinyoung moved over a seat creating space between the boys.
"Jin I have to it's tradition" Bambam shrugged nonchalantly.
"But why" Jinyoung pouted making his chubby cheeks more prominent and gave those puppy eyes that made knees wobble
"Awwww" all three boys hugged the boy telling him how cute and precious he was.
"Buttttt that doesn't get you out of this" so Bambam punched him 15 times and of course one for goodluck but not hard enough to hurt the boy.
"I'm switching my 15 punches for 15 kisses" Yugyeom kissed Jinyoungs cheek "One"
"For my 15 I'll give Jin a break, so you're welcome" Youngjae poked Jinyoungs forehead.
After a long day at school filled with his friends goofing around making them get in trouble, the day was finally over. It seemed like those boys always got poor Jinyoung in trouble but he didn't mind, they were his best friends after all. He would stick by them through anything knowing they would do the same.
The four boys went to karaoke to celebrate Jinyoungs birthday. They sang and danced for hours and hours complimentary of Yugyeoms dads credit card, his family was very wealthy and Yugyeom always payed when they went out and was happy to do so.
After karaoke they parted ways, Jinyoung arrived home to find his dad passed out on the floor...again. This was a daily thing, Jinyoung put a blanket over his drunk father and a pillow under his head, then tripped on something on his way to his room. Even though Jinyoung always cleaned the house his drunk father always seemed to mess it back up again. It was the magazines. Jinyoung panicked he had to get these to the houses before the day was over, it was his last day he didn't want to end on a bad note.
Jinyoung gathered the product put it in a backpack in a hurry and in the basket of his bicycle and started on his way to the up scaled neighborhood. He delivered and delivered and delivered and was growing tired because of the late hour. He had one magazine left to deliver as he rode his bicycle to the last house he collapsed to the floor of exhaustion, the loud noise made the house alarm go off and that was the last he heard before his vision blurred and it all went dark.
Jackson opened the door and started to swing a bat violently at the air. After realizing no one was breaking in he looked around and saw the young boy on the floor, blood gushing from his head and gashes around his body. He screamed for Mark to help him, they carried the small boy inside the house and started to tend to his nasty wounds.
