Baileys POV

As I ran into the woods, I took a couple of snares. Even though our team stays by the cornucopia, most of the food that the game makers provide are dried fruit and stale crackers. Bleh.

This forest was definitely... off.  The more steps I took, the more my stomach got this churning feeling. The forest was humid but not a rain forest, and with every step I took, I felt like I would be outsmarted right into a booby trap. The place was pretty though.

I smudged more mud on my body, trying to ignore the 99% chance of a hairy bug to be crawling on me.  Hey, at least your not being brutally murdered by someone. I thought with a laugh, until a bush behind me rustled. I stopped in my tracks, looking at the bush that rattled behind me. I took out my sword and slowly paced to the bush. I was pretty tall, so I was just large enough to she the shadow of someone sitting beside the bush on the other side. I needed to see who it was, then see if I had to kill them. I needed an easy but secretive way to see who it was.

I looked around me to check if I had any resources, just like Enobaria had told us. There was nothing but trees and land... Trees? Maybe I could climb a tree. I have climbed trees before. I could also walk around the bush, but that may give my self away. There were 72 reaped teens, and I couldn't wait for another kill. 12 people had died in the bloodbath, but that still wasn't enough.

I took a deep breath and sat against a large tree, breathing out of my mouth. I could do this. I am in here to win here. I looked up at the thick tree that I would climb to peek and see who was behind the tall bush. I slowly pulled myself up onto the first branch, making sure that my sword was in a reachable position. I looked at the bush and saw the shadow, this time more thoroughly. It was a girl, but I still couldn't see her.  My backpack seemed to weigh down my backpack as I went up another branch. I finally felt like I was high enough up that I could see, and so I looked down. Not one, but 8 people sat around, waiting for something to happen. I recognized them from districts 1 and 3. They must have joined up to make their own Career pack. Well, how dandy.

I thought over what to do. Only three out of the eight had weapons, Sequins, a girl from district one, with some axes from the cornucopia, Tobias, from three, with some spears, and a girl named Lily with a sai. The other five seemed to all have backpacks. I readjusted my position in the tree when a small twig fell from the tree and hit one of the boys with orange hair on the head. CRAP!

"Well, look what we've got here." Sequins said, looking up at me. Anger bubbled up in side me, and I wanted to jump down and slit her throat. Very badly.

" A real career." I smirked. My hand moved to my back for the grip.  I was about to come down the tree and go get my fellow pack, but before I could, things broke into a mass chaos.
