Mara P.O.V
While I was walking down a unfamiliar street, nervous with a dangerous and heavy secret i felt cold breeze skate down my neck. I suddenly turn around sensing a presence of strong magic. All i can see in the cold dark alley are cats clawing in the trash. I continue to walk down the street and start walking faster and faster until at last I'm in a an all out sprint running towards my boat at the dock. Quickly i turn around and see a shapeshifter humming with power in a cat form following me. I know why they're following me. But i don't stay to talk. I jump into my boat.
A girl who looks completely out of place is on my boat but before I can yell at her to get off i know i have to leave the town before the shapeshifter can get to me. I take hold of the wheel and leave town faster than the wind.
"Who are you?!?!" I yell to the girl. She says nothing but stutters something that sounds something like a confused awnser.
" I SAID WHO ARE YOU!?!"
She responds with a simple, " I dont know "
"You dont know? What do you mean you DONT KNOW!?!"
"I just remember... That i was drawn hear by some .... Some power i can feel it.... Its so strong it hurts. I can feel its presence its so close..."
" No one here has magic!" Can she feel it? Does she know i can feel it? What else does she know? Am i not the only one? It so powerful and its coming off of her. It's completely overwhelming.
"Its soo strong. Ahhh no I didn't mean to!!....NO...NO.. I didn't mean...im so sorry..sorry...sorry..im so tired" she yells shortly before passing out.
She seems broken and needs someone to put her back together. She falls to the floor shaking muttering the word sorry so many times it must just feel like syllables.
I hear a faint cawing in the background. What is that? Probably a sea hawk. It's getting louder. Why is it coming closer?
KAWW ACKK CAWW
Its not a bird its the shapeshifter. I know its no use to run now they will find me and were on the middle of the ocean.
I power the engine as fast as i could and speed off into the oblivion at the speed of sound with my contraption I made. The machine makes the boat rush as 2x as fast than the normal speed. It was my own invention.
The bird lands almost lands on the hull. I speed away so fast the shapeshifter is blasted by water and leaves us behind. That was so close I cant let that happen again. They are after me.
Ever since magic was banned in the country of Kalaro I felt that there was a target on me. I was cursed at birth with a power only controllable with a scarlet amulet from the center of the world.
The strange girl with pitch black hair and perfectly tanned skin wakes up in a panic. "Ahh...uhhh..I.I...can't..breath..help...help...HELP."!
I run to her and try to comfort her by asking meaningless questions like are you ok? And telling lies that she will be ok.
She wakes up completely and wipes her face from hot burning tears. She asks me who I am and I tell her.
"My name is Mara. What is yours? And who are you?"
"Zoë. My name. My name is Zoë." She stutters out.
"Why are you here?"
"I was hiding or running its foggy. It hurts to remember. I'm so tired." She looks as if she could pass out on the spot again.
"Get some rest it looks like you need it. We can talk later were safe for now."
She falls into a deep sleep on the smooth rocking boat. She talked about running. But what from I have so many questions but they must wait till tomorrow now lets dwell in the calm we have at the moment.
