"Glenn...hey."
No response.
Glenn." Maggie repeated with stillness in her voice. But Glenn still refused to reply. Was he thinking about something? Was he upset at his beloved wife?
"Look. I know it's been awhile since I've said this, but I just wanted you to know that things will get better."

Maggie took a shaky sigh trying to suppress any weak feelings. "I know you may not think so. Like the world is going to end. But please, I just wish you'd say something to me. Anything."

Now it was Maggie who refused to look Glenn in the eyes. To tell him what she really thought. But she was afraid to do such an act of courage.

"It's going to be okay...it's going to be okay." Maggie repeated to herself. She was hoping Glenn would catch her words. But she knew she was going to have to face her husband someday.

She looks up. She's going to look into Glenn's eyes and make him break his silence. Make him break through his fears and kiss her softly on the lips just to remind her of how much he loves her. And the words 'I love you' are formed by his lips. The sweet soothing phrase softer than velvet. But what she sees is different.

The cold earth engulfing what she cared about most, marking a grave with a small cross.

Pocket watch gripped tightly in her hands, the wife of a dead man whispers her lover's last words. 'I love you'

Sooooo first of all, sorry for the feels and the shortness. I've been wanting to write this for awhile now and I've finally got the chance to get around to it. This was my first Glaggie fanfiction. And it turned out to be a sad one. But I had no other ideas. 😅 Speaking of which, any ideas are welcome. I just need a pairing and main plot. Anyways, thanks for reading and have a good day.❤
