Okuda Manami run along the street as she was late for her lunch appointment.

She was actually set up by one of her college friend for a blind date, which she initially rejected, but after a few bribing she accepted it.

Gasping for breath, she stopped in front of a family restaurant that she frequent and with one last intake of breath to calm down she opened the door.

Based from her friends description the guy should be wearing a suit, and will be wearing round rimmed glasses so that she'll know her date.

This guy that she was set up to meet was actually a friend of her friends lover who is working as a bureaucrat.

She was reminded of one redhead from her old class.

She smiled at the thought and chuckled.

As she kept looking, her eyes caught the attention of that same guy she was just thinking of.

It can't be... Right?

She approached the table, the guy not noticing her on instance because he's busy with his laptop, and she sat in front of him.

After a few, the guy looked at her- shocked, and she gave him her best smile.

"Hi, Karma."

"Manami! I didn't expect to see you here." then he looked around, he smiled slyly. "Were you stalking me?"

She blushed hard, but nonetheless huffed from his arrogance.

"No. No I'm not. I'm to meet my date, but he seems to be late. I shouldn't have run from the university to here if I'd known. I'm not that good with running as you already  know."

Unlike Karma, who's working as a bureaucrat she remained working as a researcher at her College alma mater.

Karma remained silent. He just stared at her with emotions she can't dechiper.

"Karma? "

He blinked and looked away briefly before giving her his usual smirk.

"So you're already dating, huh."

"No I'm not. I was just forced  to do so... "

When she looked at him she can see a glimpse of relief but it was gone the second she blinked. So she shrugged it off.

"Force? I'm not sure you're that type of person, Manami. So what did you get in return for accepting this date? "

Ahh.. He knew me too well..

"What could you be talking about? " she feign innocence. Hiding that smile that seems to be forming.

"Like.... You get to have another good stuff for your research, I presume."

She can't help but gave in and give him that smile.

"You really knew me well, Karma."

Silence.

"What? "

He just had that blank look.

She sighed.

When she thought that he won't retort back and was about to leave, he started.

"Of course I'd know you.. We did have a relationship a few years back... Manami." then she was given that rare serious look by the guy she once dated.

She actually felt uncomfortable with the topic so she stood up.

If they're going to have the talk, which never happened before, she don't need it.

She was about to turn back when he grabbed her wrist, making him stand up as well.

"Manami."

"Let's not talk about the past, Karma. I'm really glad that we already reverted back our relationship as friends... Let's not complicate things."

He reluctantly let her go.

She smiled. "It was nice seeing you here."

She left and made her way to her supposed date who she spotted entering the premises.

Karma recognized the guy she was meeting.

An evil-mischievous glint is visible in his eyes.

"Looks like I'd have to give someone a heart-to-heart talk later."
