Luke's POV

A week has gone by since Aspenn came home, and it was time to leave. My heart hurt every time before we went on tour; thinking about leaving behind Lessite and Luca and Mayhaila. Being far from them for months, especially how pregnant Lessite will become. They are planning to meet us in New York in a few weeks, a little before it becomes unsafe for Lessite to travel.

I don't want to seem ungrateful or unexcited for touring; its one of my favorite things in the world. Our music had become much more mature as we grow older, as our fans do too. There will be a time for us to call it quits, or to go off on solo careers. But until then, I want to soak it in as much as possible.

After packing my last of three suitcases--one for hair and other hygiene products, a small bag for other necessities, and one for clothes--I lug them downstairs near the front door. When I pass through the kitchen, I see May and her friend Sage sitting on two stools at the island, giggling and huddling over a phone.

Sage glances up at me and straightens himself so he's not so close to May. "Hello Mr. Hemmings."

I nod toward him, smirking at the politeness. "You know you can call me Luke, right Sage ?"

Sage chuckles airily, and ducks his head, blushing. "Yes, sir."

I smirk again, walking out and setting my bags in the corner by the front door. I know May is with Emory, but I've admitted to Lessite and May that being with Sage wouldn't be a bad idea. If my daughter were to have a boyfriend, I prefer him to be a polite, kind guy; such as Sage. Emory himself is good to May, but from what I've seen, Sage isn't a bad guy himself.

"I better be going," Sage said, standing up. "I have work soon. I'll text you later." He hugs May, towering only a little. Almost anyone who stands next to May would tower her, her being as short as her mother. "Goodbye, sir. Uh, Luke. Bye, Luke."

"Bye, Sage," I respond, nodding my head in his direction as he walks out. "Sage seems like a nice guy. Why don't you date him ?"

"Because that would be cheating on Emory, my boyfriend whom I love," May reminds me. "Plus, Sage and I are just friends. You don't have to set me up with every nice guy I hang out with."

"I know, but if you're gonna be dating, it better be someone I approve of." Being older also entailed acting like a father; it wasn't always a good job, but I wouldn't have asked for anything different than the family I have now--my children and wife, and my fans.

"And you don't approve of Emory ?" May asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Well, yeah, I do. He just seems too much of a jock type."

May smirked. "That's probably because he's a jock."

I smile and walk over to her, wrapping an arm around her and kissing her on the forehead. "I know, I know. I just want the best for my daughter."

May hugs me back, her slender arms squeezing my waist. "Then stay."

"What ?" This took me by surprise.

May looked up at me with her big hazel eyes. "Please stay. I'm tired of you leaving. You go for so long and it's not fair." She lets go of my waist and sits back down on the island stool. "I understand you need to go and you have your music, I love that you're dedicated. But, I hate it when you leave. I hate it when me and mom and Luca aren't number one in your life. Especially now that moms pregnant. How can you leave and possibly miss the birth of your child ?"

My heart hurt hearing May say this. It made me feel sick to my stomach thinking about it, but I had gone through this before. I sat on the stool in front of her and stroked her hair. "I can leave because I know that you guys understand. You and Luca and Lessite, and my unborn son--"
