(Your POV)

"Hey there, beautiful."

Before I could realise who collided into me, I instantly began to apologise, "I'm so sorry!" I said looking up at the figure towering over my Y/H self.

"No need to apologise, I'm the one who bumped into you," his deep and low voice responded. "I'm Luke, by the way, George's friend."

I was taken back by his ocean blue eyes and noticed his Australian accent coming through. From the way he was talking I could tell he was sober, or just very skilled at appearing to be. It took me a while to latch onto his words, but when I did, a lightbulb flashed in my head.

George. The one who threw this party and was chatting with Lauren — it seemed more like flirting, but that was none of my business. I glanced back over to Lauren with a small sigh, who was halfway across the room, before focusing my attention on Luke again.

"Oh, cool, tell him it's a great party," I ran my hand through my Y/H/C hair nervously. "I'm Y/N, nice to meet you."

"So it is, I believe we've never met before. Pretty certain I would have remembered Y/E/C eyes as gorgeous as yours." he said charmingly, adding a casual wink at the end.

I blushed slightly at his comment, ducking my head down. Quit that shit! You barely know him!

"Uhm... th-thanks, I guess?" I stuttered whilst mentally kicking myself. He chuckled lowly at my awkward reply, flashing a perfect smile.

"So, who are you here with?" he asked with his eyebrow quirked.

"No one really," I began, "well, with Lauren and her friends, but they're doing their own thing."

I couldn't say I was here with my friends because everyone here was a stranger to me. Lauren and I had briefly talked in math, nothing more.

"Ditched by your squad? Don't worry, I can relate. You know what's better than friends though?" he questioned with a playful tone. I didn't bother to tell him that they aren't my squad.

"Let me guess, alcohol?" I said, rolling my eyes.

"Exactly, want me to get you a drink?"

"Can't, designated driver." I explained.

"I see. I would probably make fun of you for that, except I'm in the same role tonight, too." he shrugged. "Gotta be responsible sometimes, righ-"

"GET THE FUCK OFF ME, GEORGE!"

Half of the room snapped their heads to see Lauren pushing George away, the rest continued like oblivious animals. Luke looked at me with a puzzled face, matching my own. I swiftly made my way to the couch they were sat on, glaring at George.

"Woah! Calm down, Juraguay, it was only a hand on the thigh," he cockily retorted, purposely mispronouncing her name. The drink in his hand tipped a little with his erratic gestures.

What a dick.

"Shut the fuck up," I spat at him. I wasn't sure what had precisely happened, but the words coming out of his mouth disgusted me.

He snorted at my response. "And who exactly are you?" he slurred his words. "What, can't Miss. Druggy over here defend herself?"

"Alright, George, that's enou-" Luke tried breaking up the argument before it escalated.

"I might be high right now, but I'm not dumb enough to sleep with you," Lauren interrupted. "Plus, what Y/N said was spot on. Take a hint."

Some people laughed at how Lauren had practically ripped him a new butt hole, and I couldn't contain my laughter either. Staring down at my black boots, I attempted to hide my amused grin. He was evidently frustrated at someone talking back.

"Whatever. Everyone knows you're easy, why else would you let me flirt with you?" George laughed bitterly.

I was about to punch him square in the jaw myself, then I remembered that this was her argument. I never felt the urge to defend someone so bad; someone who only talked to me once, but I held back. Lauren didn't reply that time, yet she looked like she was ready to rip his head off.

"You've had way too much to drink. Come on, buddy," his tall friend tried pulling on his arm.

"Get your hands off me, Luke! I'm not drunk!" he snapped.

Luke jumped back a bit, withdrawing his hands. He had a brief expression of fear painted on his face, almost like he was scared of what his friend was capable of.

"Don't worry, I'm leaving this pathetic party anyways," Lauren got up. "Oh, and, George? It's because I felt sorry for you, but mainly because I heard there would be free weed." At that, she walked out the door.

"You should go check on her, I'll make sure George is okay." Luke said to me, although I didn't care about his friend. "I'm sorry about what he said, maybe we can talk some other time."

"Don't s-speak on my behalf, you dick," George slowly mumbled. "I meant every word of it." he continued, staggering as he got up to walk away.

I nodded at Luke, mouthing a sympathetic thank you. Shortly after, I exited the house, trying to search for the raven haired girl. This was all my fault for leaving her alone with that douche, and I needed to fix it.

I had to make sure she was okay.
