Log Diary #21
Space seems a lot more empty when traversing it alone. Planets seem a lot further from each other than you'd think. I haven't had the chance to speak with Katie yet. I hope she's okay. I wish Shiro was here. It's amazing that I didn't get over him after several months with just he and my father. Then again, is it even possible to get over a face like that? Ever since we were partners in the academy I've been head over heels. I guess that's why I tried so hard to be part of the Kerebos mission. I don't know. I hope I find my dad soon, I wanna be back with Shiro and Katie.Matt landed on a moon where he noticed a strange glowing. His ship dove into a crater and he went to the bottom, upon reaching it, he found a small cave, a light inside it flickering on and off. He drove his ship in then slipped on his helmet, parking his ship. He'd been wearing the suit Shiro had given him. It worked well. A gun hung at his side, his hand lingered over it nervously as he got out, delving into the cave out of curiosity. The light flickered from a warm color to a cold white. He ran his hand over the wall of the cave and brought his hand back close to his face and rubbed his fingers together, it was wet. Curious. It also seemed to have some sort of debris in it.
He heard voices as he crept around the corner. "God, I hope it's not another intergalactic whore house," he whispered to himself.
As he delved further into the cave a strange humming noise could be heard. Like a chanting of sorts. He shivered a little but pressed further, curiosity overriding fear.
As he reached the main chambers, he peaked around the corner. Inside stood a great many figures all in robes, standing around a great beast. It was gorgeous but seemed in pain as the vibrant light from inside it flickered. Matt looked down at the one gun he had to arm himself against all the creatures inside and nodded. If he went down he'd be doing the right thing. He ran in and yelled, "Stop!"
Every single creature turned and took their hoods down. They didn't have faces. They were pale and wrinkled and horrific. They seemed to let out a great screech. The light from the beast washed through the cavern like an explosion. Matt was entirely sure he was going to die, but he clung onto the thought of Shiro and Katie. When the light reached him it was warm and enveloped him in a safe pocket. It washed over him and he could feel himself changing, healing, a thanks for saving it.
"You're welcome," he uttered before the light consumed him completely.
