Once inside my room I open up my laptop and go to the website the application has on it. It’s the exact same questions, nothing is different about it. The only reason they have the online one is because they have no other way of actually matching people up. Not that a computer can do it much better. I get to one of the questions it asks, “Have you been in previous relationships? If so why did it end?” The question seems simple enough, but maybe not for me.
My last relationship was hard, his name was Daniel and he was a really nice guy and everything, or I thought he was. After about a month of dating he became super aggressive, but not in a physical way. He always wanted to know where, and what I was doing and with who. He became a stalker boyfriend basically. All I write on the application was “broke up based on clinginess, from their end” and moved on.

“AVAAAA! AVAAAAA!”
I pop my head up from my desk, man I must have fallen asleep.
“Yeahh?” I yell back downstairs to my mom.
“Dylan is at the door!” I get up, annoyed that Dylan disturbed my nap and head down the stairs.
“He Dyl, what’s up?” I say
“Nothing, can I uh- talk to you outside?”
“Okay….?” No doubt in my mind that my face is just confused as my voice. We walk outside and he stops on one of the steps. He crosses his hands in front of him, like he does when he is nervous or holding something in.
“Ava, don’t be mad…”
“What Dylan, what is it?” My voice is concerned now.
“So you know how Mackenzie was telling us she broke up with her boyfriend?”
“Yes?”
“Well, she called me and she wanted to know if I wanted to go to a movie with her, tonight?”
“Dylan, you know I don’t like telling people, especially you who and who not to hang out with. But like really Mackenzie, I thought we were doing this match making so you could meet someone not get together with Mackenzie.” I say and there is annoyance laced in my voice.
“I know, I know. But its just the movies, what the hell could happen.” I raise my eyebrow at him, he knows what could happen.
“I just don’t want you to get hurt, cause she will hurt you. You’re just to nice.” I say smiling and nudge his arm.
“I am nice right” He replies laughing.
“Do what you want, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
“Okay, thanks.”
