Broken In Silence

Chapter 2

"So little emo bitch decided to come back?"

I let out an unhappy laugh at her childish comment

"Yeah just to see your ugly ass In the morning" I said before even realizing what I'd done.

Instantly I felt her hand slash across my face causing me to fall down and hit my head on the ground making me lose most of my consciousness

"Kaitlin what the hell?!"

The alerted voice sounded like it was coming from a guy but I didn't have the strength to turn over and look

"she's just an emo freak calm down, besides she called me ugly"

When she said the last part I could hear whoever had helped me start to laugh a little

Suddenly I felt 2 strong arms wrap under my body carrying me away like a baby

Other than the pain and struggle to stay conscious his arms were strangely comfortable and made me feel protected

But all I could focus on was his voice

I had never heard it before, but it was beautiful even in his nervous tone as he found me laying on the floor

It was more on the deeper side but sent chills up my spine

Suddenly I could hear a women's voice "oh thank you sweetie, this poor girl.."

"No thanks necessary" he said

"Well you should get back to class, don't want you being late!" She said in a cheerful voice

"Are you sure she'll be alright"

I could hear the nervousness in his voice

"She'll be fine, I'll take good care of her Luke."

"Thanks Nurse Lockton."

Luke

The name matched his voice perfectly

Beautiful and sweet sounding

I could feel my mouth curve into a smile as I went into darkness

Luke.

LUKES POV~~

I walked into Chemistry class just as the bell had rung

Although I was very good with grades I couldn't focus

All I could think of was the poor girl I had to carry to the nurse

I didn't even know her name

As I carried her it felt as though that was where she belongs

I looked at her arms and felt heart broken as I noticed the deep slashes and bruises left on her arms

I wanted to cry for her

I wanted to help her

But how could Kaitlin do that

We've been dating for 6 months and she's usually so sweet

When I heard her call the girl emo freak It wasn't her, she was a bitch, she changed

Her eyes weren't the beautiful deep brown eyes I would melt into

They were cold and hard.

After the bell rang for the end of class I realized I had zoned out of everything that was happening but I didn't care, I needed to find Kaitlin

I saw her talking to Abby while leaned against her locker

I walked up to her blocking her in-between my arms

I guess she took it as a sign of flirting "hey babe!" she said with the bright radiating smile I loved

She gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and wrapped her arms around me

After a few seconds of me not returning the hug she got the hint that I'm pissed

"What's wrong??"

I clenched my jaw

"What's wrong? You fucking hurt another human that's what's wrong?! where the hell is the sweet girl I met at Kadens party? The one I fell for?"

The same dark look came back in her eyes

But before she could say anything I walked away leaving her speechless at her locker

I didn't know what to do

I couldn't be in the same building as her after that

So I grabbed the car keys out of my pocket and decided i needed a fucking vacation

MADDIES POV~~

I woke up about 2-3 hours later in the nurses office

I heard foot steps coming out from the office area "oh good you're awake! I'm so sorry what happened to you, luckily that sweet boy was here to take you in!"

I managed a smile to her when really my headache was overcoming me

Seeing that I was in pain she took some medicine off the counter handing it to me with a glass of water

I swallowed the pills as she continued to smile at me

I started feeling awkwardness seep through me as we sat there in silence

"He's cute isn't he?"

I blushed hard at her straight-forward comment trying to hide the emotions I'm feeling

"No-- I mean yes-- he just-- we don't talk but-- yeah.."

She started to giggle at my reply seeing that I was uncomfortable with this topic

"Are you new to Baker High?"

I replied with a shy "yes"

"How did you manage to get yourself into trouble already?" she asked with a bit of humor noticeable in her tone

"I'm not exactly a likable person" I mumbled

Her smile faded a little but quickly came back

"Well.. I like you!" She said giving me a hug

"Thank you" I said feeling a little bit of happiness burst through me

She may not be the person I was wanting to make friends with but she was nice and I was glad

Before heading off to my next class she handed me an ice-pack and hugged me goodbye while telling me to stay out of trouble

"No promises" I said In a playful tone.
