It's one thing to have an older brother who cares about you, and another to have an overly protective brother. The overly protective one is my brother. I love him to death, but he always treats me like I'm still a little kid. I feel very fifty-fifty about it. Sometimes it's a good thing, then again it can get to be very annoying. I make my way down the stairs and to the kitchen. "Hey." I'm startled by Connor walking in behind me. I forgot he was here. With the dream, and trying to get Matt out the house before he called Ethan, it slipped my mind that I wasn't home alone. "Hey," I say. " Is everything okay?" " Yeah, you just startled me that's all." He gives me a look that I can't decipher. He walks over to me and puts his arms around me. Engulfing me in a hug. "That's not what I meant." All I can think about is how good he smells. I look up into his eyes, getting lost in their forest green color. I pull back from his warm embrace once it finally registers what he said. "Then what did you mean? " "Well...." He says making his way over to a seat by the bar. "I was on my way to the bathroom, and I stopped by your room to make sure you were okay...." "Okay? And?" I say confused as ever. " I opened the door and you were thrashing around in your sleep, I didn't want to wake you because I heard it's bad to wake a person from a nightmare. So I stood there for a minute or two to see if you'd calm down, but you didn't. You started yelling out for Ethan." My heart sinks. The minute he said that my dream comes back like a quick flash. He continues staring at me looking for an answer that I didn't have. "What were you dreaming about?" The one question I didn't need him to ask me.
I make my way over to the bar stool that's next to him. I let out a heavy sigh before I begin speaking. "Well, there was a car crash. I was the one driving. Ethan was telling me about his ex. Like he was seeing her again. I didn't really give him much of a chance to explain or talk really. I was just so pissed. I sped up, and the more I yelled at him, the angrier I became, the harder my foot would hit the pedal. Next thing you know the car is flipping and turning. I look over at Ethan and there was blood everywhere. He kept saying my name. He was trying to tell me something, but He couldn't talk. I think he died. I'm not sure." He places a hand on my lap and shows me a hint of a smile. "Listen, it was just a dream. You're fine, he's fine, but that's only if he stays in LA. I'm telling you the minute I see him, his ass is grass. " I can't help but laugh. "Thanks, Connor." "Anytime, now wanna go watch a movie or something?" "As long as it has nothing to do with love." He lets out a chuckle. "How about horror?" "As long as you don't have a problem with me jumping on you when I get scared then okay." "It's settled, horror movie it is." I hop off the bar stool to make my way over to the couch and wait for him to pick a movie. "How about 'Orphan' ?" I look over at the tall Connor walking into the living room with a huge bowl of popcorn. The living room is filled with its aroma. What a wonderful smell it was. "Uh...sure," I say grabbing the popcorn from him, shoving a handful in my mouth. He puts the movie in the Blue ray player and takes his seat next to me. For some odd reason, I can't help but look at him. It was something about him that just made me forget. "What?" he said while grabbing the popcorn from me, taking some to eat. "Nothing," I say. "Thank you." He arches a brow in confusion. "What for?" "Everything." I can't explain what is it is, but it's something. He's just so sweet and caring. "No problem. Anything for you, now press play."
