As the week went by I found that I had only two classes with Christina, Gym and French. When I asked her why she started taking French, if she was doing so well in Spanish, she dramatically responded, "because, every time I'm at you house, I feel like your parents are talking about me." To which I responded "They are."
Credits are very important, and most of us are trying to get them how ever we can, even if that means taking sweet Mrs.Bradley again. She's still just as extra with her assignments, as she was last year. The only difference is that she expects us, those who were in her class last year, to actually do the work. "I want you guys to set an example for our new comers." Is what she said on the first day, and I, along with everyone else, immediately regretted taking her class again. And each time I sat in Mrs.Bradley's class, I thought to myself, 'What the hell do you even teach?'
Jeff and I had the same teachers, just not the same schedule. We had only one class together, and that was gym. I groaned, at the thought of him watching me getting knocked the fuck out in dodgeball. The boys worked out before the girls did, and once it was our time, the guys would sit on the bleachers - watching us stretch. Whilst bending over, we earned howls and whistles from behind us. I cringed a little, when I bent over. And between my legs, I saw Jeff, whom of which was grinning very hard. I nearly lost it when he bit his lip. But then I started to think, 'If I'm going out with this guy, what harm will it do, if I gave him something to look forward to.'
"Atta girl!" Bryce yells followed by whistle. I have to remind myself that this isn't a private show, and there are other perverted teenage boys watching.
"Chill out man." Jeff defends me, slapping Bryce's knee.
To my right, Angie Ramiro purposely puts on a show for everybody. She would look back to see if they were watching, when she knew they were. Her giggles fill my ear, but they don't bother me as much as they bother Christina, who rolled her eyes so far back you can see nothing but the white in them. Every now and then, Angie would turn to Monty, and give him a playful wink.
"Your eyes are going to get stuck, if you keep rolling them." I warned Christina as we lined up for VolleyBall.
"Let them get stuck, so I can scare that bitch off." Christina mumbled between us, making us both to giggle.
I've been thinking about trying out for volleyball. It is one of my favorite sports, and plus I'm tired of scrubbing grass stains out of my soccer uniform.
The ball was served across the net, and the teams fought to hit it back and fourth. We eventually rotated, and It was my turn to serve. I walked over to my position, and a whistle rang from the bleachers. I looked back and smiled when I noticed it was Jeff. He winked at me, and I turned away so he wouldn't see me blush.
"Focus Clemens!" My coach ordered.
I was embarrassed, but I turned my focus back to the game, and served the ball.
Back and forth, across the court, the ball went. Our coach blowed her whistle, signaling it was time to rotate again. Christina took the position, but it wasn't her time to serve yet. Angie continued to flirt with Montgomery from across the court. Christina boiled with anger. I know this because I heard her laughing behind me. I asked her what was so funny. She had a low chuckle in her threat, then she looked at me, gave me a sinister smile and said "nothing." But the way she said it, it was as if I were her parent, and she was laughing at an inappropriate joke she knew she couldn't share.
"Okay" I answered worriedly. I didn't bother to ask anything else, because she really looked crazy.
It was her time to serve. And I had seen Christina get very competitive at volleyball. But this time was different. Each serve, and each time she hit the ball, she would use a little bit more agression.
"Chris, chill out. Your gonna hurt somebody." I turned to her and said.
Her knees were bent, and she rocked from side to side as she prepared to serve the ball."Would that really be such a bad thing?" She asked deviously. I didn't even respond. I involuntarily jerked my head back, and gave her a questionable look. A look that asked 'Bitch What!?'
The very moment our coach blew her whistle, Christina served the ball hard into the back of Angie Ramiro's head.
"Oooohhh." The guys shouted from the bleachers.
"Christina!" I snapped and looked at her with disbelief.
Angie went into a rage, speaking her native tongue and lunged towards Christina. They fail onto the floor, grabbing each others hair, and throwing punches. Gym class went into an uproar. Everyone ran to the fight with their phones. I ran over to the two, and grabbed them by their shoulders, trying to break it up. I should've known better not to break up a fight, but it's the first week of school, and I'm highly protective of the people I love. I'm in between them, and as I try to pry them off each other, I shoved Angie harder then I meant to. She fail back on the floor. I grabbed Christina, and she fought to free herself. My back was turned and continued to push my belligerent friend away. Suddenly, I felt a hand grab a fist full of my hair. I quickly turned and broke free. Without thinking, I swung on Angie and decked her.
"Clemens!" My coach yelled after blowing her whistle yet again.
"Williams, Ramiro, Clemens; all three of you to the principles office now!" She walked all three of us to the principles office. I looked back to see if Jeff was there, but I couldn't find him in the crowd.
Because Christina started the fight, she was suspend for five days. Angie and I had after school detention for the rest of next week. I was dreading going home. I had to face my mom. I know for sure she's going to ground me; probably take away my phone, and keep me from making any plans, after scolding me of course. And unless I convince her enough, which is damn near impossible, I'd have to cancel my date tonight.
