Chapter 8

A few days had passed from the attack (if you could even call it that) and I had decided that it was probably a good idea to meet the pack.  I didn’t know how big the pack was but Stryker had said he had a large and powerful pack but I didn’t know how large. I was going to go shopping with the Stryker today to look for a dress to wear to meet the pack. I didn’t know what to wear. I wanted to be casual but look nice at the same time. I mean I was meeting the pack and I wanted them to like me. God I hope they like me.

“Skylar you will be a brilliant Luna and they will love you.” Stryker said as we walked into the first store.

“Thanks. How did you know what I was thinking?” I realized the awnser as soon as I asked

“Sky the mate link.” He said in a duh voice

“Yeah I think that is going to take some time to get used to sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it Baby Girl.” He said pulling me closer to his side as we continued to walk into the back on the store. He pulled me over to the casual section.

“Go choose some things to wear I will be right here.” I wandered over to a rack that had some dresses on it.

I started to flick through some of the dresses when I felt a presence behind me.

“Well fancy seeing you here Skylo.” My eyes widened in fear. Only one person called me that. Marcus. I turned around and faced him. Marcus was the future beta of my old pack. He was a cool kid when he wasn’t brutally bashing me. He once was my friend at first when the beatings started he would stand up for me and refuse to take part in it. But when he got older and my parents had started to influence me a little more he began to become one of the people who would bash me more frequently he didn’t really stop at physical abuse.

He raped me to say the least. Zane tried to stop him but Marcus just knocked him out. I was still scared of him and it happened a year or so ago but I guess that stuff like that stays in your mind.

Stryker?

Yes baby girl do you need help picking a dress?

No it is a little more serious than that.

Are you okay?

Can you come over to me please? Now

“Oh I see you have found yourself a mate. Impressive mark you have there.” He said pointing to the mark on the crook of my neck. Just as I was about to dignify him with a response Stryker appeared behind me and pulled me into his chest. I relaxed a little but not much.

“Oh so is this him? He looks a little tense Skylo.”

“Don’t talk to her.” Stryker growled out.

Can you get rid of him. I don’t want him here.

Of course Baby Girl.

“Go.” Was all Stryker said but his tone was enough to make me flinch even though it wasn’t directed at me.

“Now Alpha that is no way to treat your mate you’re scaring her.”

“JUST LEAVE BEFORE I DO SOMETHING I REGERT.”

“Fine but I will be back. Bye Skylo great seeing you.” And with that Marcus walked away.

I turned and faced Stryker. I leaned into his chest and he wrapped two arms around me possessively and whispered soothing words to me.
