"Leggo my Eggo! You Leggo my Eggo!" I watch as the ad plays on the television, as I eat two waffles for breakfast. "Lucy! Will's here!" My father yells as he leads Will into my room. "Lucy!! God, I've missed you!" Will jumps onto me, eventually cuddling up next to me on the floor. "Hehe. I missed you too, Byers. How was your trip to California?" I sit up; with Will still next to me. "It was amazing! Me and Jonathan got to see the Golden Gate Bridge, and Disney Land!" "You went to...Disney? Without me?" I pretended to be shocked, while Will giggled. "I love you, Lucy." "Love you too, Byers." We are not dating, he's like a brother to me.
"So, how's your relationship with Mike?" Will was looking though my journal, full of excerpts from my experience as Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons. Well, backup Dungeon Master. I'm Mike's backup. "It's alright. We rarely have any arguments." "Sounds like you and Kevin last year." I frown slightly; at the thought of my brother. He's changed ever since my parents came back from The Upside Down. It's like he's...depressed. No, that's not it. "Yeah." I look at the ceiling. "Where is he anyway?" Will asks. "Probably on a date with Kendall Smith. The second most popular girl in eighth grade. Next to the queen, of course." I point at myself, with Will giggling. "True. You are the queen of eighth grade. And, Kevin and Mike are 'battling' for the king of eighth grade spot." I let out a small giggle, whilst ruffling Will's hair.
After about four hours of talking about random stuff, Will goes home, leaving me alone in my bedroom. Now you might be wondering; why is Mike not here? Well, he's in New York at the moment, visiting his extended family. I hear taps on my bedroom window. I look out, to see the powerhouses of eighth grade; Dan Howell, Phil Lester, Felix Kjellberg, Mark Fischbach, Sean McLoughlin, Arin Hanson, and Danny Avidan, at my window. I was literally screaming inside, but on the outside, I flash a smile and open the window. "Well, well. If it isn't the powerhouses of eighth grade. Climb up, you cuties!" Dan and Phil blushed, while Mark Felix, Arin, Danny, and Sean just laughed. For some reason, they allow me to call them 'cuties'. What? I'm not cheating on Mike. I mean, Dan is pretty cu- shut up Abernathy. Dan doesn't like an Abernathy.
"Hello? Earth to Lucy?" Mark, who had a bit of bright-red highlights in hair, waved his hands in front of my face. "Huh? Sorry, I spaced out." I smile, with Arin giggling. "What?" "You're friends with the rulers of Hawkins Middle AV Club right?" I look at him with a bit of suspicion in my eyes. "Yeah..why?" "We all have been wondering..could we join the club? I mean, even though we're..er..popular, we all are just regular kids. Besides, I know all of us have a hidden geek inside all of us." I laugh; making the boys smile. Kevin opens the door, thinking that I was alone. "Look who decided to show up." I glare at Dan, and signal Kevin to sit besides me. "How about we'll talk about this sometime later? Kevin and I have a little catching up do to." The boys frown, but gave in. They all walk out, but Phil pecked me on the forehead; whispering, "Hopefully Kevin's alright." And then he walked out leaving me and Kevin alone.
Kevin and I just looked at each other, while the awkward weight in the air, made the air feel heavy. Kevin finally breaks the silence, saying, "I'm sorry." I look at him, his green eyes filling with guilt. "For what?" I ask him. "For being a jerk. Being distant. For hurting other people that I care about. For.. everything." Kevin's eyes diverted from looking at his palms, to looking at me. I sigh, and hug him tightly. "Kev, I miss you. I miss... us." "I miss us too, Lucy."
