"Who is this Arya?" is she the official ambassador of this place or something.
"Relax Lyse man if we are lucky. We get to meet her" He said and tilted his head towards a counter behind the dance floor.
I followed Lee to that counter and saw that little girl from before. Lee said some words to her and she opened a side door to let us in.
We moved behind the counter towards the wall. Where I realized that there was a much larger door. Lee knocked and waited. On the door read the symbol 'DJ hall'. Lee and I waited for a couple minutes but no answer came so Lee opened the door and poked his head in.
"Hello?" He called and went in and came back clearly frustrated.
"She isn't in there" he said angrily. That was the first time I saw him angry. He walked angrily towards the little girl and demanded "Where is she?"
"She isn't in?" the girl asked him back. "No that's what I said" he snapped.
"Well Lee I am sure she is around here. Hang on I will call up Jay and find out"
"It's ok" he said before the girl could do anything. "You all are coming tomorrow right? I'll talk to her then" he sighed and led me out of there. We went back to the drinks stall. Lee and I ordered the same drinks. After talking to Pallavi Lee got back to normal mode but I knew he was hurt. How long has he been trying to recruit Arya? Was she that much busy? Was she worth it all? But I just kept mum and accepted the drink.
"I am sorry I dint get your name before?" Pallavi asked me. "Lysander" I answered taking a sip of my cherry coke.
"Sorry what?" Pallavi asked me
"Lysander" Lee answered on my behalf. "Are you an Anglo-Indian?" she asked a little confused. "Yup" I answered feeling awkward.
"So where is Arya?" Lee asked Pallavi. Pallavi sighed. "I know the music is down right? She is sick, she went away a few minutes ago" Lee's face relaxed. "She wasn't supposed to come today at all. But she came because of Jay and Varna. Mostly Varna, she doesn't know Arya went away so don't tell her. Ok?" Pallavi said. Lee gave me a look which seemed to say uh-oh.
"Please don't tell me you told her" she begged Lee.
"Umm I did not scream and snap at her" Lee said in a croaky voice.
"Unbelievable" She cried
"What?" Lee defended "I didn't know ok?"
Pallavi left to manage Varna. Seeing he had no other job Lee and I left the place. I shoved the pass in my wallet. It's worth four hundred.
When I reached home it was nearly half past eleven. My dad was up struggling his way through the new and updated Telugu script keyboard. My dad always promoted hand scripts and hand written stuff. So this cutting edge tech was not his cup of tea.
"Hey" I said as I shut the door slowly.
"Hey" my father replied back and squinted his eyes.
"What are you typing?" I asked him leaning beside him so that I could read what he was struggling with.
"The sister I lost" I muttered. And then it dawned on me.
"Dad" I sighed "It's the best way to express. About you and Sophie" my dad answered. I just nodded my head and left for the bed which would welcome me with open arms.
