13. Christmas gifts

Christmas Day

Rydel's POV

I woke up really early on Christmas Day. I immediately went into the lounge were I found all the christmas gifts undder the tree. Rocky's sitting in the couch, looking at the TV.

"Whatcha looking at?" I ask as I plopp down next to him. He looks quickly at me before looking back at the TV. I look at the TV and see that he's looking at disney's version of A Christmas Carol. The one with Mickey. I love that one, I've always have. It's become kind of a tradition to watch it on Christmas Day, we've done that ever since we were little. In the beginning all of us children used to sit in front of the TV in the morning. When Ryland was little he used to sit in Riker's knee and Ross used to sit in mine. Rocky was half looking half playing with one of his little cars. He always used to bring his little electric piano or his ukulele, but we would let him play for long cause he was making too much of a noise. He was only four years by then, but his interest in music was already born. I smiled as I thought of that time. I doubt that anyone except me and Riker (and of course mum and dad) remembers it, it was so long ago, I only remember parts of it.

I look at Rocky next to me and move closer. I rest my head on his shoulder and hug his arm. He smiles down at me and kisses my head before leaning his own on it. Nowadays Ross usually sleeps until noon even on Christmas Day (even though we wake him at 9am) so he's never up in time to see the movie. Although Riker and Ryland usually wakes up like halfway through or something like that. Rocky and I are the only ones awake when the movie starts. We've been watching the movie like fifteen minutes when Rocky speaks up.

"Dels, I'm sorry for telling Riker and I'm sorry for arguing with him about your love life!" he says. I smile up at him and kiss his cheek.

"It's OK Rock! Riker would've found out sooner or later anyways. I'm not mad at you!" I say. The argument was a few days ago, but I haven't had the time to talk to Rocky after it. We continue watching the movie in silence until Riker comes in and soon after him, Ryland. We smile at them and they sit down next to us.

"I think Ross will come pretty soon, if haven't gone back to bed. I made sure to make a lot of noise when I woke up and he woke up too. He said he would come in a minute, but I bet he's gone back to bed!" Ryland says with a chuckle. I smile and concentrate on the movie again.

To our surprise Ross comes into the room ten minutes later. He looks really tired, but at least he's up. We are all wearing matching Christmas PJ's and when mum and dad comes in they want to take a picture of us all. After the picture we open the presents. Riker gets shades (from me), a surfboard, shirts, sweaters and ties. I get a new Hello Kitty bikini, new mascara and eyeshades, a dress, heart shaped shades and different colors of glitter for my hair. Rocky gets roller blades (from me), a sloth shirt, some movies, some picks and shades. I'm starting to see a pattern here. Ross gets new converse (from me), CD's, a cover for Luna (his guitar), posters and (of course) shades. Ryland gets a cooking book (from me), a cooking machine, shades (why not?), headphones and socks. We all planned something big for mum and dad so we made them open their gifts last. First we got them sailor hats. They don't seem to understand, but still say how grateful they were, I mean, what would they say? We're their children, they have to be thankful for whatever we give them. Then we gave them the big gift. We had wrapped it up in a huge box, so that it would look bigger. When they open it there were just a few papers in the bottom. When they read the papers their mouths drop open.

''A luxury cruise to Hawaii?'' mum say in awe. Are we the best children or what? Dad doesn't say anything, he's still trying to melt it. After a while of just staring a the papers they gives us big hugs. Then we move on to all the usual traditions of Christmas. (A/N: Yeah, I don't know much about American Christmas, so I'm gonna stop there)
